There was also this incident in La Salle Zobel where a student jumped from a building (but survived I think). A friend's son who studies in Ateneo saw a fellow student standing on the edge of a building, buti na lang naawat. Maybe they were bullied or pressured to do well in school?

attended a mental health seminar at my daughter's school a couple of months ago, realized that there are many kids affected by depression.
it was also mentioned na in years to come mental health/suicide can be one of the leading cause of death here in the Philippines

And sometimes the bullying doesn't stop in school. I have a colleague who is being bullied in the office. He was just made fun of at FB today. My friend said that his tummy is bigger than their pregnant boss and so many people liked it! I could just imagine how bad it is in GS and HS.

i think depression is in the background.
some depressions are genetic.
but there is usually a triggering factor involved, that is in the environment (e.g., society).
