Kahit anak ka ng mayaman kung wala kang drive and bobo ka, kahit paliguan mo ng pera walang mangyayari.

+100, example 1 Billion net worth ng parents then the anak ended up having 1.5 billon, whether he did it on his own or with help from the parents, the fact that he surpassed his already wealthy parents is impressive (through legit means)

Sharon Cuneta mentioned na she surpassed her parents, I believe her and kudos to her diba.

Iba for me ang self-made, kahit mayaman ka or mahirap basta naging successful ka then you're a "self-made"

Rags to richest naman yata yun definition mo ng self-made.

Parangnsi injap. I consider him a seld-made. Mayaman din family niya.

While I have huge respect for people born into privilege who made the most of that privilege and achieved even greater success, I think it’s a different kind of success from those that truly started with nothing.

I have many friends who fit the profile. One big advantage they have is that they can take bigger risks in life because they have safety nets to fall back on.

I’m more impressed with people who make a name for themselves even without any backing from their parents - people who were one setback away from ending up homeless or in debt, yet still found a way to be successful.

Perhaps they won’t be able to build empires like the privileged ones, but just breaking out of generational poverty is a big achievement in itself when you have the odds stacked against you.

It might be a naive question to ask. Ano ang definition ng middle class at upper middle class?

Is it gauge by annual salary inclusive of bonuses, net worth or by both?

Is a middle class net worth like >25M (at least half a mil USD) or >50M?

    it's in google.
there are several ways to define it.
    here's one.

lower middle class - Php 43K household monthly income.
    middle class - 76K.
    upper middle class - 131K.

    but there are "ifs".
best to read the entire article.

I think it depends on the industry, pero for me it's not just the income but the lifestyle as well.

My friend works for a research company, sa kanila hindi automatic na you live at x place and earn x amount e class A ka na.

Parang okay bumili ulit ng isa or dalawa pang lorry para may mapaglagyan ng diesel para sa mga trucks.

Hhmm, maka saglit nga sa Subic [emoji3]

Pahirap na ng pahirap ang buhay ngayon. There's covid and now the war. The 2020s is NOT a good decade.

In the past, I never understood Westerners that refused to have children kasi hindi na daw maganda ang mundo. But since Covid and the war, I sort of agree na (as of now I still want children pero maiintindihan ko those that don't want)

I am thankful I was able to live almost 4 decades FREE, will we ever live in a world without masks? Will middle class families be able to afford decent homes? Nung panahon ng parents ko (baby boomers), middle class could buy cars and build HOUSE and LOT in their 20s, ngayon puro condo na.
