I was already in my mid 30s ata nung natuto magpa lab exam mag isa, pero before kailangan I had my Mom, Lola or Aunt with me LOL! Sinasabihan na yung med tech na isang shoot lang. Naranasan ko na kasi when I was younger maburdahan kasi mahirap ako hanapan ng ugat. Thankfully, I never experienced that again.

It depends sa doctor, if they're in the clinic. some doctors are hands on. Mga Nurse stations yun iba admin/reporting.
Sa operating room mga scrubs usually shadow. pretty cool how they rely on hemo equipments.
My uncle and aunts are nurses hehehe.

I was browsing FB and saw a video about a 34 yr old that FAILED THE NURSING BOARD 7 TIMES so I asked my Mom diba you can only fail the board X number of times. My Mom said she thinks thrice then you need a refresher.
    the kuwento is probably incomplete.
the person may have taken refresher courses in between, but the story did not mention it.

    also,
    board exams evolve.
new science... new technology... new policies... new laws... new examiners!
there is no guarantee that one's board rating last year, will approximate one's board rating 1-2 years hence.

yes, there are people like that.
magaling sa practice and sa theory,
    but lack "exam-smartness".
i personally know of such professionals.

society is so unforgiving of health professionals.

    as an aside,
an authority once said, "doctors are the only professionals who are not allowed to make a mistake. i can not imagine anyone living up to those standards".

depende sa institution, what nurses are allowed to do.
there are training programs for special skills...
katas ng ISO and all that.

    some doctors have reputations.
only they and their handpicked fellow, may insert IV lines on their patients.
only their selected senior nurse or resident, may assist them in the OR or clinic.

    when i was younger,
there were stories on how some sour-geons would drop to the floor surgical instruments handed to them by their assistant, usually an OR nurse, if said instrument was the wrong one.
i thought, "sobra namang mang-insulto ito!"
today, however, "san ilalagay ng sour-geon ang maling instrument na binigay sa kanya? definitely, he can't give it back...
    OT.

Haha, ako rin. Madali daw kasi pumutok ugat ko. Kaya kahit ilang beses lagay yung IV lagi tinatanggal ulit, sobra sakit na at gusto ko na magalit kaso maganda yung nurse. [emoji23]

In the end they waited for the expert nurse on the team and they used a smaller needle yata. Lalaki yung expert at buti na lang one try lang.

BTW this happened for 2 surgery, on my 3rd surgery mukhang kilala na ko at expert na lagi ang 1st try and successful na, from 3rd surgery onwards lagi na 1st try.

I told my Mom I will never want that woman as a nurse, baka lalo pa ko mamatay. She asked me how I knew and I said it's on FB. My Mom said, why did she have to announce something so embarrassing and said no wonder she failed the board 7 times LOL!!!!OMG My Mom is so savage! hahaha!

But seriously, I get my Mom. Growing up we had family meetings (love how my parents are a mix of conservative and liberal) My Mom always said whatever problems we have, to keep it WITHIN THE FAMILY. Ang kasiraan ng isa sa amin, kasiraan ng lahat. That stuck to me. I know my parents had differences, their marriage was not perfect but my Mom NEVER said anything negative about my Dad even to my Lola and Aunts. Sarap pakinggan when my maternal Lola says my Dad is the son she never had (all girls anak niya) Samantalang mga babae ngayon, nauuna pa siraan asawa nila - hello Tulfo! Kuya and I used to tease Mom she hit the jackpot with Dad, but now that I am older, I see that my Dad was just as lucky
That's what I like about my wife lagi nya niyayabang sa parents nya good things about me pero mga negative hindi nya kinukwento. Even to her friends. I also do same things to my parents, one time nag away kami ng mother ko because she was insinuating na wife lied to me, I stopped her on her tracks and defended my wife. I think that's the time she realized di nya kaya siraan wife ko and she stopped ever since that incident.

Kaya ba may mga incident ng naiiwan na instruments sa loob ng katawan ng pasyente? Kasi walang mapag lagyan? [emoji23]
