Thanks for sharing your preferences with us. But I don't do that dance. Not everyone gets a kick out of basking in their own vanity.

I also agree that it's better to be in a club/forum where you can talk about more than just your ride. Even as a car enthusiast, I believe that there's so much more to life than cars. So more than being with people with the same car as you, I think it's better to be with people who have the same wavelength as you.

One of my my friends ran a rental 1.3L Sentra
(similar to those yellow airport taxis) and placed in bracket D of RWYB.

On the tsikot boards, you can discuss quite a lot and that's why the Miscellaneous boards are quite active.

Walandyo bro, - ako naman ang niyari mo...

No need for apologies on me... I suggest you start to mend fences with some of our bros here....

I tell you, you're good. But, you have to use that to help others... That's the challenge bro...

Not being judgmental or anything, but I think it's because the Altis is just an econobox. You don't expect the kind of people owning Mustangs to be the same crowd as Altis owners.

Are you also part of GK Nation? Curious to know if there's a difference between the people you meet there vs. those you meet with the clubs of your more expensive cars.

I drove my wife to her friend's house very early this morning (probably more shopping). It was uneventful until I was on my way home.

Some dickhead in a Ford F-150 decided he was going to toy with me by tailgating me (on a 6-lane empty freeway). I originally tried to put some distance by accelerating from the speed limit of 75 mph to 90 mph. But he easily kept up. I assumed he probably had an Ecoboost F-150 which is quicker than my Sonata. So.... I decided to punch it. At about 110 mph, I started pulling away.

By the time I was doing 130 mph, he was just a dot behind me. I slowed back down to 75 mph. The bonehead behind me didn't try to catch up. He kept that distance until I got off the freeway. Probably still in disbelief.

I guess it's true the F-150 does have a speed governor.

The Gk nation guys are actually cool as well. Theres a common passion for their cars and its not hubris or yabang at all. These guys just really love everything about their cars, motoring life and the open road. The technical expertise or knowledge about aftermarket parts and services are extensive. A lot of folks in both groups support social oriented causes and use the group as a mechanism. The truth is that these groups do their own internal policing. Its inevitable that some chats will degenerate into silliness. But by and large the level of maturity displayed by the founders and moderators eventually manages to set the club on an even keel.

To each his own, but personally, the most valuable thing for me in these clubs isnt the social activities (i have only been to one fun run and EB ever) ----- but the knowledge that is freely shared. And if there are a few laughs and cringes along the way, thats more than fine by me.

Mukhang mahirap yung project ko na PS4 sa loob ng kotse. I called up Mickey of mickey's autosound on saturday. The difficult part is finding a small HD screen with hdmi inputs. The other screens are too bulky. But once i find the screen we will make brackets for it and the ps4.

Been checking aliexpress for small 14" or less full HD LED monitors with built in speakers.

I admire your positivity with the whole club scene. I guess if you take time to filter through all the fluff, you'll find some good content as well. When I joined an ACP EB before, the officers were quite friendly and some had pretty good technical advice.

That said, perhaps I'm just not into the whole B2B Car Show or EMMA sound competition scene, and unfortunately these are where most EBs are held. I lurk the FB page from time to time but it's really mostly fluff. Having one club for the 9th to 11th gen makes for a pretty big group and you can get lost in all the clutter.

Ultimately though, I just don't feel that I'm missing out on so much just because I didn't apply to become a bonafide member. But maybe next year if the EBs are more exciting (track days hopefully), I'll put in the effort to participate more actively.
