Yup. I liked the simpler cars I owned. I liked the roll-up windows too. They hardly ever broke. My first three cars all had roll-up windows. The stereos can be replaced on a whim. Not too many computerized systems either.

This post just brings back memories. A 69 W108, 5am, south super highway, doing 100mph, 1994. Shouldn't have sold it

I remember our rollup windows, always misaligned. And car roof leaks when it rains. And then they have not perfected the car aircon... Sira lagi. 1978 galant.

Cruise control has been around a very long time. Even my 1986 Nissan Pulsar NX had cruise control (no air conditioning system though).

The newer cruise control tech is adaptive cruise control which uses millimeter radar to automatically keep the distance from the car ahead. I'm not fond of it either. I mean, common sense says not to use cruise control when there is plenty of traffic nearby. No one can predict how much traffic will there be or how they will behave. It's best to just take the wheel and keep an eye out. I rather have ordinary cruise control and use it when the freeway traffic is very light.

I had roll-up windows on my first three cars. They were all in proper operating condition. Of course, I was single then and I took care of my cars.

Oh. I had suggested to the wife about getting a motorcycle again. She looked at me with that smirk like I was out of my mind. It looked like she was ready to give me a loooooong lecturing. I cut her off by saying I'm just kidding.
