And I have one rule simula natutong mag Drive mga millenials [emoji23] never ever go to Tagaytay no more. It's highly commercialized now, nawala na yun authencity ng Tagaytay na Place to escape Manila's humidity. Mas mainit pa doon eh.
Come to think of it. There's nothing to do in Tagaytay. Eat in restaurants? Meron na lahat dito sa manila.
Foreigners na lang nauuto ng Tagaytay.
Pag meron lang foreigner na visitor doon mo dalhin para malapit lang and "out of town" kuno.

Magkaiba tayo ng opinion sa Tagaytay. Siguro nga kasi Millennial ako. [emoji23] I don't treat it as an "out-of-town" destination. More of quick getaway lang pag di ko feel kumain sa mga usual restaurants sa mall. Malapit lang kasi.
Just came from Tagaytay last week. Mas malamig pa rin dun pag gabi kaysa dito. Not Baguio-level, but not Baguio-far either. Went up Saturday lunch time and hindi naman gaanong traffic - Waze just directed me through the inner roads.
Hindi rin lahat ng restaurants na nandun, meron na dito. Wala pang Antonio's or Marcia Adams' sa Manila - and iba yung vibe because it's kinda hard to replicate the naturey vibe of these places in the metro. Cafe Ysabel looked a bit like Antonio's but it's gone now and even then it never really had the same vibe. And there are many other cafes and restaurants there that aren't franchised in Manila.
It doesn't have the same out-of-town vibe as before, but it's still a nice change of scenery every once in a while.
Siyempre given na dapat iwasan yung mga matataong places like Skyranch, Palace in the Sky, Picnic Grove, etc. But if you have a place to stay sa Highlands or are staycationing in one of the nicer hotels there, maganda pa rin ang Tagaytay para maiba lang from the usual Manila grind.
It's an overexposed wedding venue though. Turns out 3 of my friends (including us) are getting married in Tagaytay next year. [emoji23] but it makes sense kasi eh - different from the usual Manila wedding na you have to really set aside time and effort for it, but not too far that it's too much of a hassle for guests to go.

Tagaytay highlands is somehow not so populated compared to other places there, so that could be really a good place to go. The view outside your window once you woke up in the morning makes you think that you are really "out of town".
A bit expensive though, food and outdoor activities, but at least it isn't congested compared to others. The steak is good, I just can't recall the name of the restaurant, with the "boys and girls" dressed in cowboy outfit.

May 14th, 2018 11:43 AM #19940sometimes, "it pays to be expensive."
an oxymoron, but it works.
heh heh.
but the traffic to get there...
there was a time, a few short years ago, when the next stoplight one met on the way to tagaytay from slex, was already at the rim. and your speed limit was limited by your heart rate.
and there was nothing but grass, pineapple plantations, and far-spaced houses along the way.
Thread was made nung 2018 pa po sir.
