50k to 60k? If you dont have loan/mortage, or rent.
    Depends on lifestyle as well.

Ironic. Those who handle money are paid the lowest.

Actually. I think 100k is enough?

Pero hindi pa din siya galante
    Hehehe

Dito lang siguro Cath. A guy I know in his 30s in JP Morgan earns a lot more than 300k. Granted that still isn't a lot in NYC but well above comfortable.

I think that's just average in NY? Rent in NYC pa lang ang mahal na.

I reached the 6-digit mark on my 10th year with my previous employer and after being a manager for 5 years. Wife was still working at that time and 2 kids in elementary school. House on mortgage along with 2 cars. Savings was just a trickle but we can afford weekend shopping and dine out. My point is P100k would not afford a family of 4 enough savings for retirement.

I finally decided to leave the company after 17 years, which was the best decision I have made.

    Another case:

A friend worked for P&G for several years rolling out new systems and hopped through various BPOs and SSCs migrating processes from different countries into Manila ended up with a salary of P400K/month and eventually retired upon reaching mid-40s and now comfortably running his own business and travels around the world with his family.

Lessons learned: never stay too long in one company and be ready to grab the next opportunity.
