San farm ninyo, sir? Our family had one before in Rizal near Baras. My parents sold it sometime in the 90s.

I'm sure you'll have no shortage of options for 2nd hand 4x4 pickup trucks.

    Off limits.

    Is this viable here?

Its a device that turns your car into a generator......

Not sure if its got enough juice to power my stuff.

What do the resident gearheads think? Its actually a cool idea IMHO.

CarGenerator lets you power your entire house with your car

I haven't read through yet bro.,- but technically, it should work, as a motor is [also] a generator.

It depends on what side of the circuit you are - and what's driving the circuit.

    = = = = = = = = = = =

I see a couple of connectors +/- on the thingy, so it connects to a battery... basically, just an inverter with a higher KW capacity...

    Further:

Only 1KW,- not enough for house requirement - only lighting and a couple of appliances - no AC.

"IS UP TO 1000 WATTS ENOUGH?

1000 watts is not a lot, however consider the following:

To run your furnace and heat your entire house, only requires between 200-300 watts on average.
To run a fridge only requires 200-300 watts typically
The number one identified problem with gas generator is….? F.T.S. = Fail to start. CarGenerator is always ready.
Keeping a good supply of gas cans stored, and keeping them all fresh every few months, is a nuisance and a fire safety hazard.
If you need lots of backup power for all your house appliances and big draw items like a hot tub, wine cellar, Air Conditioning, or if you often need backup power, then you’re better off with a traditional gas generator.
If your need for backup power is occasional and modest, then a CarGenerator is a better choice."

Looks viable and feasible too, a car engine is basically a power generator anyway. This would be ideal in emergency and disaster situations.

voltage inverters have been in the mall market for years now. it is plugged into the cigarette lighter, and the gadget's output can power some non-too-sensitive 220V gadgets.
it all depends on how much power you need. low-wattage gadgets are probably fine. but the home electric furnace...?

getting a fossil-fuel-run generator built specifically for the purpose, is probably less complicated...
    ang daming mapag-pipilian sa mall...

I have with me an old and trusty power inverter I got from Best Buy long before. Just plug it to the cigarette lighter socket and I can get AC power (both 110-120V and 220-240V) rated at 140w. That's more than enough to power a laptop or tablet or any of those handy gaming devices.

The power capacity of the inverters plugged into the cigarette lighter interface is limited by the current ratings of the fuse and the wire that connects the cigarette lighter interface to the battery.

Now, if the inverter is connected directly to the battery and the chassis,- then the power capacity of the inverter can go higher.

In the case of what's advertised,- about 1,000W - probably just enough for lighting and a couple of low power appliances...

Agree that the generator is the way to go if we want AC, Ref, etc running...

Was thinking of connecting this to one of my LC200s during a power outage and then power a few lights and the ref.

But probably better to get a small 5 - 6 kva generator.

You're correct bro.,- for small cars,- not even enough to cover for 1,000W..
