PLDT internet is a big headache. Sadly we are tied to it for 3 years. I'm considering getting Globe broadband. I wonder if it will be worth it to have 2 ISP. Btw, Globe will be a 2 years contract. If Globe sevices sucks too, I'll be stuck with 2 headache ISP for years.

May lock-in pa rin. AFAIK pag di tinapos ang contract babayaran lahat ng natitirang Monthly payments + fee.

Yeah, that what we should have done with PLDT. We don't have a lock in anymore. Kaso nag alok sila ng telpad unit with 3 years contract. Just after we got into the lock in the problem with the internet started. I badly want to threaten them "fix our internet or we are switching to other brands". But I can't.

    but you can!
the contract stipulates that should you agree to their contract, they should provide you with the stipulated service.
so if they do not, you can complain that you want to terminate the contract, because they are not living up to their part of the bargain.
    right?

I'm interested to know if anyone has done this. I was using Digitel a few years ago, dial-up internet with 56 kbps. I told them that I can't pay for the service because the internet is always interrupted every 40 seconds or so. With that, they will charge me for one minute connection.

They continued to bill me for the next two months until they permanently disconnected the line. For the next two months, they kept on sending me bills for overdue charges.

Now with the PLDT fiber connection with 20 Mbps, I only get about 3-5 Mbps. The fastest was 12 Mbps. Sometimes, Naruto will stop playing in YouTube! This reminds me, I should search for Mazinger Z.
    [emoji3]

I think I should complain as the company couldn't deliver us the 20 Mbps. However, comparing it with my previous internet then I am somehow satisfied.

Check the contract or plan. Sometimes, the plan says, "UP TO 20MBPS" so technically it didn't promise 20mbps connection all the time. Magagaling nagsulat. Coy. Abugado malamang Hehe.

Parang sale sa mall. Ang nakalagay sa poster sa labas "SALE up to 80% discount" pero yung malaking font size lang yung SALE at 80% di mo mapapansin yung "up to" sa liit. So pagpasok mo, success na sila. Pumasok ka sa store mo hoping 80 off lahat. Pero selected items. Pero makikita mo na rin ibang items nila. Mapapabili ka na rin. Either abugado or psychologist gumawa ng scheme na yan hehe.

Doesn't Globe's "unlimited" plan have this fair use policy wherein they throttle your bandwidth if you exceed a certain number of alloted GB a month? I'd stay away from Globe.

Yup, like they have 10Mbps up to 500GB a month....

For regular use, that should be enough...

They should at least give you 18Mbps consistently, which is 90% of their published 20Mbps....

My globe connection should only be 10Mbps, but am getting consistent 12Mbps... Probably because of ARC(?)....😉😎😍

I have 5mbps on pldt and globe and both are averaging around 7mbps.

Guess those users who are getting lower than usual is congested.

I have no problem with speed. Our 6 mbps subscription usually gets 6.5 mbps. Yun nga lang hindi stable yung DSL light.

Ahh. Disconnects. Yeah, kakainis nga yan.
Most likely cause is di maayos connection sa poste and need to reterminate.
