I'm with corporate banking. Honestly, it's embarrassing when people find out that I work in a bank and ask me about retail banking (deposits and loans etc) and I really have no idea. Cards I know a little because that's where I started but that was so long ago
Probably more than P200k/mo sa lifestyle nila SO.
SO was complaining to me last night na his Dad distributed na among them (5 children) yung cash/principal nila na ginagamit yung INTEREST to run their household. I have no idea how huge their house is but it can't be below 1000 sq m. They recently renovated their parking to accommodate more cars and I asked him how large the new parking space is and he said 150 sq m (that's a house na)
Now that the principal is smaller, he's problematic because the interest is not enough for their expenses anymore (1/6 of the principal) They have several staff at home (helpers, caregivers, driver, all around) and his Dad supports a sibling and his family pa. I do NOT wanna ask numbers but I'm thinking gaano kaya kalaki principal nun because they change their cars every x yrs then his Dad is a regular at the casino![]()
It's sad kasi mahina na Daddy niya kaya nagdi distribute na ng assets, but I hope he reaches 100 pa. Kung hindi kasi nag viagra which caused his stroke, malakas pa siya.
I'm telling you it will never be enough. You might think ₱200k/month is more than enough now but 5-10 years from now wala na value yan and as we get older mas lumalaki gastos, you also need to think about not just retirement pero yun gastos sa mga medicals, kailagan mo pa rin paghandaan yan. Sana nga hanggang mamatay walang major na gastos sa hospital but that's impossible. If meron ka savings for your retirement and hinde mo nasama yun eventuality na gastusin mo sa medical needs mo.ubos ka parin.
Bilis isipin na ₱200k/month kasya na sa akin that's kung walang emergency na mangyari hanggang mamatay ka.
Kaya huwag mainggit ngayon sa mga nakikita sa socmed, bago kotse, bago relo, travel the world. Akala mo marami talaga pera.
One barometer for me kung meron ka talaga pera eh kung meron magkasakit major sa pamilya and need ma hospital ng matagal and kaya pa rin bayaran yun hospital bills hinde yun bebenta pa mga kotse, bahay para lang makabayad or lahat ng pinagyayabang kailagan ibenta.
Kailagan talaga pumasok sa business hanggang meron pang fix monthly income ngayon, kailagan mapalitan talaga yun fix nakukuha mo ngaykn na monthly pag na retire na. I'm saying you can't stop.
Everybody's thinking of retirement, for me there's no such thing as retirement lalo na dito ka sa Pilipinas. The state won't provide for you, sinong aasahan? Mga anak? You also can't give them that big of responsibility para alagaan kayo sa pagtanda, they have their own lives to live.

Napaisip lang ako just how large the principal is when SO told me na sa interest lang pala nila kinuhuha pambayad ng lahat ng household expenses nila because I know their lifestyle.
I don't think they have a business but they do have several properties which I assume they used to rent out pero na dispose na din ata. AFAIK lahat dini distribute na ng Dad niya, but then he's in his 80s pa lang naman. Si SO (and his Kuya) pinaka kawawa sa magkakapatid when their Dad is gone kasi all other siblings are successful in their careers
There are a lot of special time deposit rates one can access once the deposit is in the millions.
One was 0.2% in 35 days but it changes
Either way the deposit still has to be in the hundreds of millions of pesos before the interest can be sustained on.
"how much money in the bank do you need to live on interest and maintain a very comfortable lifestyle"
P1,000,000,000
Sun Smarter Life Elite Insurance Plan: Guaranteed Income Until Age 1
This is the sample computation of Sunlife Smarter Life Elite. It will give you 8% of the face amount every 2 years from 6th year upto age 100. But when Im analyzing the computation it seems off for me It looks good at first but not really worth it. Your thoughts? or maybe you can convince me that this is good.
#rantNaLangKasiTamad hehehe [emoji23]
but is that attractive interest rate guaranteed in writing, for the entire length of the contract?
best to read the fine print.
ang alam ko kasi,
they entice you with the highest probable interest rate, but do not warn you that in real life, the interest can go significantly lower.
I'm a magnet for men like thatSayang talaga opportunities, he was able to get into prestigious companies that some people would die to join, yung last niya over 10 yrs ago was known for it's high pay, nag AWOL kasi ayaw na lang niya
He's the type na hindi pwede mangamuhan (just like all my cousins except me and another)
It's still his Dad that pays for his credit card and phone (well, all his expenses) BUT BUT BUT masinop siya kasi he got his inheritance from his Mom and AFAIK hindi yun nagagalaw.
SO mentioned yung kanila sa government (his Dad was a government official) pero forgot what it's called
