I'm wondering what is the long-term reliability of an engine that use auto start/stop. There was a vehicle that was beside mine on the street. Every time we pulled to a red stoplight, the engine of that car powered off. Then, when the stoplight turned green, I heard the engine start up. We had a lot of red lights and I heard that engine power on and off frequently. That can't be good for the long run.
I'm also not a big fan of push start/stop either. I still prefer the old-fashioned key. One reason why is in case I need another key, it's around $240 for the key and reprogramming. If something goes wrong with push start/stop, it's at least a $1000 repair job. I'll stick with the key.![]()

some time back, i would turn off my engine at long red lights, to save gas.
my battery died on its 13th month, a few weeks after the 12 month warranty expired.
in contrast, my son drives the same model car, with lotsa highway miles.
his exactsame battery as mine died after 4 years.
i also prefer a real key.
the potential issues with push-start are frightening enough for me.
Who's in charge in moving electric line from main papunta sa meter? Magpagawa na kasi yung katabi ko at nasabihan na ako na to move my wire kasi doon dinaan ng Meralco. Kaya na ba ng electrician yan or need ko pa itawag sa Meralco? Pasok kasi sa lupa nila
