    ah, yes. "deterrent" factor.

our local authorities tried to have something similar here.
the drivers decried, "it's too much!".
i asked myself, "why are you complaining? how often do you intend to violate road policy?"

Kaya nga nagtataka ako bakit our government won't implement it, if malaki ang multa eh d you have to follow the rules para di ka mahuli and get fined.

    my guess is,
puj and pub drivers violate road rules so often, a significant percentage of their income goes to "blindness money".
hence their violent objection to deterrent-quality penalties. pag tumaas ang penalty, tataas rin daw ang blindness money.

Yup, dapat full stop and not just a rolling stop pag may sign. What amazes me is people really follow it even if the roads are practically deserted

Ok lang ba mag drive kahit di international driver's license? If mahuli subject kaya for deportation? ano kaya requirement kapag mag car for rent sa US tapos tourist ka lang?

You wont get deported. I got 2 tickets there

Dont worry much, you can review some DMV materials to get acquainted with the laws.

Exactly my thoughts doc. Why complain if you don't intend to violate them anyway and thus won't affect you, a responsible road user.

We always do a full stop. It's because the cops usually keep a close eye on them (intersections). My aunt once ran a stop sign in the middle of nowhere at 3 AM (I was riding shotgun). To her surprise, a cop car came out of the bushes and pulled her over. The cop asked why she did that. My aunt replied, "I thought the place was empty. I didn't know you were there." The cop let her off with a warning.

Dun po sa huli nyo Sir Stock, International / US driver's license na gamit nyo? Tama ba na sumunod sa payo na try mag drive kahit local PH driver's license lang ang meron?

I've decided to start studying Android programming while I don't have much load yet. Stable naman ang system at walang major issues na narereport. Pwede ko isingit-singit ang pag-aaral.

I'm open for suggestions on what app to make para mapagpractice-an.

I once commented to an uncle with whom I was riding shotgun in NJ that he just did the infamous CA rolling stop... He did not talk with me the whole day. I regretted saying it.....🥺😂

I was following an officemate who did not stop in a 4-way stop intersection in CA.

He was using a Philippine license and driving a rental car. The officer let him go, reminding him to follow the traffic signs all the time...

Another incident: I was driving in I5 from SFO to LA, and leading a pack of cars doing over the speed limit on the passing lane. One by one the cars behind me took the right lane and then I realized that the police patrol car was directly behind me... I slightly stepped on the brake pedal which took me out of auto cruise and back into the speed limit... The patrol car turned on his lights and siren and overtook me on the right lane and weaved in front of me and sped away... He was probably cursing me under his breath... 😉
He might have noticed that I was driving a rental car and that I am oriental.... Took the right lane after that...

I recall posting (back in the mid 2000's) about two separate incidents at a 4-way stop here. during the morning as I passed the intersection, there was an accident where one car had T-boned another. The guilty car had California plates and the driver appeared to be (very much so) Pinay.

Then on my return that afternoon, there was another T-bone incident at the intersection. This time, it happened as I approached. Guess what the guilty car and driver looked like? Yup. The guilty car had California plates and the driver appeared to be.....Pinay. A bit more chubby and older. But, Pinay.

I saw the whole thing. She did a rolling stop and then probably floored it. Smashed into the rear half of the other car. Good thing the gasoline didn't leak out.

Android programming? I wonder what could be the difference with MATLAB? I know only the "basics of the basic", just enough to get through the subject numerical methods so I can't tell.

Can you make an interface in the Android system that can communicate with PLC? So let's say we have two workstations. I want to see what's in the first workstation and compare it with the second by viewing it through Android. This will be a "read only mode" as you need the computer to change anything on the PLC.

Is what I'm asking even possible?

Just thinking that the real estate market must have taken a huge, huge plunge after the eruption & the uncertainty of the future, not knowing when the next eruption will come.

It is actually a lot better now with Waze and earlier, GPS.... First time I drove in the US, i had to rely on the map and I memorized the roads and the turns before I do a long drive, and kept a paper with my notes beside me as ready reference... 😉🥺

most plcs are already connected to a server. accessing the data on a remote device is basically porting these info onto a phone with a gui.

we're also using android and we have different apps for monitoring, reporting and tracking.
