I wonder what document will prove that my wife is related to her brother? The brother died in the US and my wife wants to attend the funeral but one requirement to get a Visa is proof that they are related. Can't get NSO birth certificate of the brother cause they won't release it if you are not a direct descendant. The brother's wife is under medical treatment and they have no child who would know if they kept a copy of his birth certificate, if he did keep one in the US.

Timing yung post, napa order ako sa PSA. Baka pwede naman ang kapatid?

IMPORTANT FOR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES, DEATH CERTIFICATES, CENOMAR AND ADVISORY ON MARRIAGES: As per PSA Office Memorandum No. 2017-050, these documents can only be issued to:

the owner himself or through a duly authorized representative
his/her spouse, parent, direct descendants, guardian or institution legally in-charge of him/her, if minor
the court or proper public official whenever absolutely necessary in administrative, judicial or other official proceedings to determine the identity of a person
in case of the person’s death, the nearest of kin.
If you are the document owner and you are unable to receive the document, you may authorize a representative to do so on your behalf. Your authorized representative will have to present the following to the courier:

your signed authorization letter
your valid ID (with photo and signature)
the valid ID (with photo and signature) of your authorized representative

^forgot to add, magkaiba kami last name ng mom ko. pero tama ka, siguro dahil binanggit nya na ermat ko sya nung ni-receive nya or tinamad si delivery guy mag verify that time? hehehe

We were able to get an expedited appointment for US Visa, problem now is coding day natapat. Coming from the south thru SLEX, was thinking to park at magallanes galleria, then taxi to US embassy. Any better options? And dun pa rin ba sa dati na us embassy, kasi parang may napansin ako annex nila malapit sa paranaque
