I am sorry to hear that. There are really some people who are so downright immature to think that way. Unfortunately, this is a forum. People hide behind their aliases, unlike in social media where they can be called out, but it still happens (think Leah Navarro). There is really no excuse to trivialize natural calamities that can permanently change peoples lives. It is said that the “Big One” wiIl happen. It is not a matter of if it will but when it will. So as a nation, we should be prepared. Unfortunately, there is a big “divide” now. That is why mods should seriously consider closing that thread ‘cause it is contributing to the divide.

Nobody ever really wins in discussions about politics and/or religion. What's worse, you end up feeding trolls who just love to make people feel irritated and insulted.

With all due respect sir, the initial post was not entirely about digong, not entirely about earthquake, san thread ilalagay other than here. It so happens that some people chimed in, as what happens in forums. Pwede rin naman hindi magparticipate. Its not as if may nagpapalitan na ng insults.

But sure, let's keep all toxic political stuff dun sa digong thread.

New topic tayo, who here believes that most people who have Tow/Trailer Hitch receivers installed on their subcompact cars are actually going to use it?

Seems to me they're doing this as some added protection for the rear of the car.

But doesn't that negate the safety aspects of the crumple zones?

What say you, kind ladies and gentlemen?

Could a tow hitch be used for a bike rack? Or some sort of step when reaching for the roof rack?

Yes it can sir Wally, if it's a receiver like the one pictured above, you can attach almost anything to it which matches the square hole that could be locked in place temporarily. Bike racks, foot holds, an actual vehicle trailer, etc.

    i agree with you.
simbolo de estado nah... bump deterrent pah.

    now,
if one such motorist were to be heavily fined for brandishing an appliance that clearly negates the bumper's safety characteristics...
or if someone were to sue such, because the item did major-ize the damage caused to his car when he bumped the rear of a vehicle brandishing such... battering ram...
or if a pedestrian got hit by such and sued the owner...

the modified 4 x 4 policy indicates that, among others...
..external accessories should be deformable, retractable, so as to reduce the risk of injury..."

but none of this is worth zilch, if authorities do not actively apprehend the mis-guided brandisher of such accessories.

    a wigo brandishing such...?
    baka bumaba ang km/li niya...
    heh heh.

You successfully just opened up my follow-up query Doc, aren't such modifications regulated under our highly numerous, ineffective and antiquated rules and guidelines with regards to our vehicles and how they should be used?

A friend put a toehitch on his Crosswind not to tow a trailer, but to attach a carrier for his dog crate when he moved from Naga to Laguna. The dog is a Golden Retriever. There are multiple uses of hitches, but if you are seriously considering attaching a trailer on one of those, you’d have to check your car’s towing capacity, if ever it has one.

I've read of some who install a tow hitch precisely for protection from getting rear ended badly. Mga hatch yata usually nakakaisip nyan dahil pag nabangga ang likod walang trunk na "sasalo" ng impact.

Others simply put one of those aluminum Benen tow hooks.

what they might not have thought of,
is that sometimes, without that hitch, only the easily fix-able or replace-able plastic bumper will need to be repaired.
with that hitch, however, the metal body will get damaged and will have to be repaired, as well as the bumper.
also, the motorist behind can sue him for excessive damage due to that hitch. "his accessory clearly bypassed the safety features offered by the bumpers, resulting in markedly increased cost of repair."

    and i agree with blo.
not all motor vehicles have the ... ability... to safely tow trailers.

Slightly OT Sir Bloo, but did he actually transport the dog while it was inside the crate? That would have been cruel and illegal. I hope they didn't do that.

What amazes me is how subcompact cars will even be able to handle the additional weight if they tried to tow another vehicle or something as heavy.

They should really Study well if cloud seeding is effective. Para as early as now gawin na nila at hindi sa summer pa. Like when there are storms liek this baka mas ideal na mag-cloud seeding since medyo makapal ang ulap. Mas may chance na magka-ulan.

Hinde mo nman kelangan maging witch doctor doc.

Cant you feel it? Some thing is coming talaga.

Dead fishes in the bay, irregular rain, no water, temperature drops and highs

At least i can attribute this to too much materialism as well as home credit, low downs and no downs .

Bigla sumikip ang lanat ng barrio, barangsay, palengke, daan, mall sa Pilipinas, its as if everyone nagka-car at everyone nagka grab or van rental business

Sobrang sikep at congested. And even will sll these progress, resd the comments in the internet, lahat sobra angsty sobrsn galit na kulang pa tinatamasa nial ngaun

I think its the mileennials, Nature is going after the millennials. You know how Baby Boomers after the water taught the GEN x na hinde dapat palalo, and thats why the GEN x now is so complaining of the millennials complainers.

Eh tutoo naman pala, ayaw ng millennials na dumaan sa proseso ng hirap at tiyags as was the generstions before. Its like military training, lahat dumadaan sa hirap

Wala magawa ang mga older generation, so what They did is just give em the money in terms of easy terms. So the millennials enjoyed, pinalakas ang socmed thru travels, food trip, good cars, and do take note, these are all on credit.

Today we see millennials get Fortuner na hinde nila mababayaran in the entire term and then mag papasalo .

These are very disturbing times indeed.

Even nature responds to sudden wealth hot air wealth.
