It's called the mabolo. In other countries it's known as butterfruit , velvety apple, peach bloom, scarlet fruit, and velvet persimmon (i looked it up hehe)

the mabolo is apparently a close relative of the persimmon and date plum (bro pekto was kind of right). It's the fruit of the kamagong and as i've read, it's hard to find because people desire the tree for its hardwood qualities

Last year was the 1st time i tasted it and i've been waiting a whole year to savor it once again. Unfortunately, the ones i got this morning (i picked them off the ground) is still unripe so i was told to wrap it in paper and stow it away in our rice bin. I'll have to wait for it to ripen for another few days ��
