Well, 16 is not really that young. It's best if she got used to it early.

Just make sure she reads signs carefully. When I was 14, I was looking for one of the mini buses going to Cavite City. Back then, they had callers who announced where the bus was going. I said, "Cavite?" He nodded and waved me in. Of course, I got in. I kind of dozed off. When I woke up, the bus was bouncing around on a dirt road, people were riding carabaos, and there wasn't much traffic. I think I boarded a bus for Dasmarinas.
