I grew up in a household where my Dad decides all the car purchases. My Mom never gets herself involved, even in instances where the car was paid for by my Lola (maternal) so she definitely has a "say" if she wanted to. They give my Dad 100% trust that his decisions are correct.

When I was old enough, my family just gave me a budget and I decided everything too. I think it is stressful when purchasing a car and there are "too many cooks"

Are you talking about the couples who wear honda shirts and their baby also wear a honda shirt? With matching hondacarclubph sticker/decals sa harap likod and left and right?

In our family, everyone can have a say about anything. Of course, if we don't know or don't care, we let someone else do the decision making.

But the traditional "This is dad's house" mentality doesn't hold for us. No, my dad doesn't feel undermined at all - he prefers to know what everyone thinks about a particular set of choices.

Yes, the drawback of an authoritarian approach vs a consultative one is that it can take longer to arrive at decisions, but it allows discourse that takes into consideration everyone's concerns and you usually end up with a broader perspective afterwards because you allow yourself to see the world from other people's points of view. You just have to know when to be consultative and when to make a decision quickly.

I don't live in an authoritarian household btw. We have "family meetings" too and my Dad is the most democratic man I know. There are some aspects where we think it's best to let the man of the house decide. One of that is buying a car.

Wow. I'm glad I haven't seen those couples.

BTT It looks like this person I know had a self full filling prophecy of being forever alone and lonely. I understand now why.

    How about you Cathy?

    You are into cars also.

When you marry will you let the husband decide only?

    Uhmmm I don't think so.

There goes your answer. For other couples/families, buying a car is not something that they just leave for the "man of the house" to decide.

They actually want to be involved in the decision-making. Like CNS said, most likely you'd like to get involved too in the future, especially if you end up with someone who isn't much of a car guy. Heck, you decided on what car your parents would buy you instead of letting your dad decide.

At the end of the day, different strokes for different folks - a different way of deciding purchases from what you're used to doesn't mean it's wrong. 😊

I hope our Subdivision replace the Radio Frequency Identification scanner/reader it can't read the RFID tag on my medium and heavy tinted front windshield. It can only detect it properly on my car with a clear tint

This solution may be too redneck for your taste: why not cut the tint around the RFID thingy on your dash?

After a long while, Wikimapia was updated recently with satellite pictures that are approx a year old.

There's a structure which we built about 6 months ago,- that's still not included there.

Defense and arms show at Megatrade Hall SM Megamall until July 18; looking to find some (cheap) tactical gear there.

Bato dela Rosa was there earlier -- marketer's dream. Kulang na lang tabako:

Just to share my experienxe with seatmate mandaluyong. The fit is good and the quality of the leatherette is nice. I chose black for the black/grey interior of the jimny. The grey trims on the seatcover added a premium feel. Un lang mahal -6500 sa jimny pa un na maliit.

The back rest is velcro. The seat portion is mix of velcro and strings.
