What Are You Thinking About?

Had to entertain some friends and went to a couple of clubs the other night. I must teach my kids to hold alcohol well when they start going out as other really make fools of themselves when they drink a lot too many.

Plus the age of instant video recording and internet...

Wondering if it's worth it to join ACP (Altis Club of the Philippines).

From what I've seen (as a member of the FB group and forum, as well as one EB), it's really all about talking about mods and other expenses they have or plan to have on their Altis.

I'm perfectly fine with my car and I already know exactly what mods I want if and when I have extra money to splurge. I don't need to be influenced any further. And to be honest not all of their "upgrades" look good to me.

Then there are the fun runs, but I go to Tanay and Subic regularly so it's not really all that exciting for me anymore.

Supposedly there are discounted track days, but I haven't seen any. Just the Vios Cup in Subic this weekend but that's just a short 1 hour run.

Then in the FB page there are a lot of noobie questions it's quite tiring to answer all of them. Especially when there are people who advocate PnP HIDs or people who claim they can do 30 km/L just because their MID said so (without even knowing how to compute via full tank method).

So right now I don't really feel motivated to put in the effort and attend EBs and plan the Newbie's Night and whatnot.

I agree with your observations in general to several "clubs" or groups nowadays. It's pretty much different from what it was back then. One reason why i stuck with tsikot is because it still has that general "old" vibe when it comes to discussing cars amongst some of the members. I learned a lot from a lot of the older car clubs (especially the now defunct Nissabayan) and there we met to work on our cars (meka-EBs), run on the old SIR whether we were in modded sedans or bone-stock cars/trucks (which is why it was amusing to see people "prepping" and modifyin their cars for their first track run when all you need to have fun and be competitive was the basic safety items and a well maintained ride), and just be good friends until we all got older and moved on with our lives. We still see each other as buddies and its good to see that when we do meet, its not always to talk about cars but about our families, jobs, and many other things.

I agree. If I had a daughter, I'd want him to date someone like jut Intelligent, well bred and responsible. Plus he has standards so I know he can't be manipulated by women who have nothing to offer but their looks. Karamihan lalaki makakita lang ng maganda at ***y nawawala na rationality kaya mabilis mauto ng mga starlet
