That's what my FB is. It's just a glorified email service among relatives.

Is it really cheaper to shop in Middle East than the US? I thought US goods are supposed to be cheapest in the US, apparently not. Even European goods are cheaper in ME than in Europe How did that happen?

Just sales tax or no tax at all? Example if items costs $109 in US ($100 + $9 sales tax), that same item will cost $100 in ME or less?

even sa AV equipments cathy.

(1USD = SR 3.77)... Red Wing or Dexter Shoes * $100 sa US, sa ME SR200 na lang.

sa electronics (Bose and/or Apple products) kung $109 ($100 + $9 sales tax) sa US, baka makuha mo ng
$120 (SR 452), pero bibigyan ka naman nila ng "free gifts" (i. e. cellfones, digtal alarm clocks, headphones, internet cards, etc.) worth $20. eh di lumalabas pa rin na mas mura pa rin sa ME kesa sa US.

    This comic:

The Pencilsword: On a plate - The Wireless

The sad reality is, especially for countries with high income inequality like the Philippines, the existing systems make it really hard for those in the lower income classes of society to have the same opportunities as those from the middle class, much less the upper elite.

BI orders expulsion of 155 foreigners working illegally in PH

    July 22, 2015 03:20pm

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) has already ordered the deportation of 155 foreign nationals caught working as call center agents-cum-online gambling operators in an office in Pasay City.

Immigration spokesperson Elaine Tan said the foreign workers, mostly Chinese nationals, were rounded up in Pasay City last Monday.

Tan said the Immigration bureau received a tip from a concerned individual about a gambling operation in Pasay, prompting agents to conduct continuous monitoring and surveillance of the area to verify the report.

At around 2 p.m. last Monday, BI operatives moved in to make the arrest and caught the foreigners in the act. When questioned, the foreign workers failed to present immigration papers and work permits.

"Thereafter, they were arrested and brought to the BI main office for inquest proceedings," Tan said adding that the foreign nationals were charged for deportation under Section 37(a)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act for being improperly documented.
