Nahihiya talaga akong tumanggi. Nagiging low context culture na ang Pilipinas, which I find really sad.

Nahihiya kang tumanggi, then you call your collegues walang hiya, walang modo. So who needs to go to etiquette school?

Friends making pabilin is normal occurrence. I always tell them Ill purchase it "if I have the opportunity, no guarantees because schedule is tight". And they concur.

I e-mail them the price and pic of the goods ahead of my return so they would have the funds ready, and to build excitement for them. So, no pressure whatsoever, plus they will love you for it.

I never called anyone walang hiya and walang modo. DO NOT put words into my mouth. Calling someone walang hiya is different from hindi marunong mahiya. If anything I am very considerate of other people feelings so do not imply that I have no etiquette.

And BTW our VP is NOT my friend plus my friends will never do what she does.
