Last year yung binibigay ko sa kris kringle namin sa office sabon na bareta. something soft, something long and hard, something colorful. Sabon lahat. Inis na inis ang nakakakuha.

Ngayon naman itlog. Something slimy. Something long and hard, sinamahan ko ng talong. Kaya kinakabahan sila lahat baka sila nabunot ko.

Yan siguro ang least favorite nila.

I do! I love fruit cakes.
But not all fruitcakes are good.
Yung mga chipipay na nabibili sa grocery, or yung typical na ginagawa ng wife ng officemate na binebenta for cheap sa office...blech.

The ones I like are dark and moist and saturated with booze. Yung pag kinagat mo may fumes na lalabas sa nostrils mo na pwedeng lumiyab pag nalapit sa apoy. Tapos the ingredients are not chipipay glazed fruits na nabibili sa grocery. Instead, the ingredients are real wall nuts and cherries. :D Yum.

    Anyway, gifts I hate receiving:
    - Chipipay na fruitcake! When people find out I like fruitcake, they automatically give me their lasang karton na fruitcake which they received from somebody else...

Hmmmm... too many to count although one that stood out was this cheap sunglass case you're supposed to clip on the car visor since i know my friend who gave it to me just picked it out without thinking. Usually its those gifts that friends or officemates give én masse, with not much thought. That's why now we all have a agreement of not giving useless gifts and instead, we all just have a nice dinner together.

On a related topic, my wife and i both have gifts we've given to one another at one time or another (no special occasion) that we absolutely hate.

my daughter had an exchange gift worth 200 pesos. and the kid wants a Pokémon cards. so we went to toy store and ask for a Pokémon card, we got one that has 2 cards that's worth 199. I thought it's weird na ganun kamahal yung card.

anyway, I just took one of my petron porsche collection at binigay sa bata kapalit nung tinapon.

i know of someones... "hindi nako sumasali sa exchange gifts.. lagi akong nalulugi.. mas mahal yung binibigay ko kaysa natatanggap ko..".
akunaman... (i confess and apologize, buhat bangko here!).. they want to be the recipient of my gift. i see to it that its value goes 'way over the upper limit.. (it's only money, guys, and not a bank-breaker at that.. and only once a year. so go splurge and make someone happy.)

anyway, the most un-appreciated gift i ever got, was a... defective gift. the defect made it near-useless, and it was so obvious.. the only conclusion i could arrive at, was that the gift-giver just wanted to pass along this gift to... whoever.

I like your terminology. Ako i normally would use " hindi ko ikahihirap yan" or "it's not worth a fortune".

Same here. It makes me feel good to see a person happy with my gift.

Yung iba kasi napaka salaula, regifted na nga, almost useless or worn out na. Parang hindi nahihiya magbigay ng ganung item Regifting is acceptable if the item can still be appreciated or useful to others.

We call that at home (an inside joke between me and my siblings) recycle. Hahahaha! When it's a gift to you tapos you don't have anything to do with it, so you wrap it again and then give it to another. [emoji23] pero I have never tried receiving any defective gift. Parang ang sad, when you're looking forward to something, tapos sira Lang.
