I'm just wondering out loud here. It's kind of a toss up between Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery vs. Emergency Medicine at the moment. Any inputs would be most welcome. I have around a year to decide on this pa naman.Thanks.

sa head and neck surgery may scheduled procedures na..paminsan minsan siguro alanganing oras...

June 10th, 2005 01:14 AM #7Yung dating president ng DC.org (tsikot handle: bulldog) is an Emergency Medicine consultant at SLMC. Actually sa kanya ko napulot ang idea since I love ER duties (nakikipagpalit pa ko tutal wala namang may gusto mag ER).
ENT naman, I also like the work lalo na kapag OPD and hindi siya ganun katoxic. Kaso parang walang ka-thrill thrill minsan. hehehe. Pero its a stable field.

If i was in your shoe - i would choose the one that i enjoy doing more and not just for the money...the thing is, a person will be more successful doing what he enjoys to do.

June 10th, 2005 01:29 AM #9I do enjoy both. ENT and ER duty were my favorite days when I was a student. Kaya nga parang ang hirap mag-isip. hehehe.
Though sabi ng dad ko pwede naman ako mag-ENT then work the ER of a smaller hospital (which do not require that you have finished a residency in emergency medicine).

how about TCVS? AFAIK konti lang ang mga ganito sa Pinas. plus kung gusto mo mag charitable work d2 marami ka talagang matutulungan. as in mga desperado na talaga. ika nga e "sakit ng mga mayayaman".

ob-gyne -- walang family planning sa pinas, remember that. ob-gyne ng misis ko nako pow araw-araw iba ang set ng diamonds, rubies, emeralds, no day the same! parang xmas tree sa kislap! dami buntis, dami kita. lahat pa kita mo ehehehe!
NO sagot ko sa...
pulmo - #2 killer pero di na pinapagamot ehehehe! namamatay na lang ng walang laban. wala din kita dito!
pedia - dami pasyente pero wala pambayad, wag ka dito. sister ko pedia, naghihirap. dami nga patiente lahat naman ng mothers sasabihin hirap buhay nila e di pusong mamon free na, or 80% discount. ayun nagsawa sa kakabugay ng charity sa iba, abroad na lang.
o baka naman doc yung balak mong speciality e NURSING! :D
