mods, i know there is a HT thread, pero medyo out of my league kasi ang mga pinagusapan, so can i start a new thread for HT in-a-box for P5000? I already have a samsung DVD player

guys, i know that the budget is very low, but, yan lang talaga ang gusto kong gastusin. this will be placed in my small living room with an area of 20 sqmeters.

i have checked villman online and these are what i have seen:

    Ozaki Nuke28 EM928 5.1 Speakers
6-piece Speaker System, Total Power: 55W, Wooden Subwoofers, AC3/5.1 surround sound, can be wall-mounted P 3,195

    Creative SBS560 5.1 Speaker System
    6-piece Speaker System, Satellites: 30W Subwoofer: 12W P 2,999

    Creative Inspire 5.1 5200 Speakers
    6-piece Speaker System, Satellites: 30W Subwoofer: 17W P 4,698

    Logitech Z-640 5.1 Speaker System
    6-piece Speaker System, Satellites: 45.5W Subwoofer: 25.7W P 4,995

    Labtec Arena-675 5.1 Speaker System
6-piece Speaker System, Total Power: 26.5 Watts RMS, Max-X band pass subwoofer, Stylish flat panel speakers P 2,888

which of the above are good value for money, given my needs?

    thanks,

    andy

more or less same din space natin, mas bagay sau yan cos double ang output, ung iba kasi dyan sa list 5.1 o 6.1 pa pero supot naman sa output power. although dont expect to have BOOMBOOM cos hindi yan ang strong point ng xa3051. wired remote sya n only dolby prologic 1.

pero next target ko is the logitech z680, ipon pa hehe

20 sqm? IMO the speakers that you mentioned wouldn't sound that good... you'll be better off using the stock speakers of your TV (or your component).

yes, you can turn the volume up but it'll just sound very bright.

computer speakers only work well in confined spaces (say 5-7 sqm). Klipsh is the only computer speakers that is decent enough as a substitute for HT systems.

ive read plenty of reviews of the logitech Z680, it won many awards and is powerful enough (505W RMS, THX certified, Prologic II, Dolby Digital n DTS Hardware decoding, wireless command station) to challenge HT systems but costs 18k

You can also use Camridge Soundworks 4.1 or 5.1. Sounds really good. For a 20 sqm living room tamang-tama lang. Just place the satellites on every corner of the living room and the sub confined.

Yung Klipsch sana gusto ko kaya lang sobrang mahal.

yup kaya sya sa 20 sqm. i've tried it in our bedroom which is 25 sqm malakas pa nga at nagrereklamo si misis. yung placement ng speakers importante kasi it will really effect sound quality.

kaya nya yun. 30 sqm ang studio ko and I have a creative inspire 5.1. Yun nga lang nagsisisi ako I ought to have acquired the altec lansing kaso the look of the speaker wont match "the look" ng unit ko. kinuha ko nalang yung black boxy look ng creative.

thaks for the inputs guys. i guess mahirap talaga kung walang budget. maybe i should rename the thread to go for a HT for under P10,000?

kayang kaya ng PC speakers yung 20 sq. m. it's not that big a floor area, parang room size din yun. the sound quality is a different discussion altogether, but as far as volume is concerned, you'll find it acceptable. my cambridge soundworks FPS2000 4.1 set fills a room enough for my ears (though i use my sennheiser more often hehe)

logitech Z line is a good series i think. for HT, you'd want strong, tight bass, and the logitechs are one of the better ones in this price range. the creative subs may underwhelm you for this application, and they get boomy all over the place at higher volumes. keep in mind that subs work best when placed in a corner of the room or at least next to a wall (depends per sub), and you'd want sturdy speaker stands for the satellites
