Based on my opinion, I believe that the most informative newspaper in circulation nowadays is the Philippine Daily Inquirer. The columnists, in this broadsheet, present conflicting sides concerning a given topic in a well-balanced manner. When they try to criticize governmental acts performed by public officials in their official capacity they undertake to present it in a manner that a print media practitioner is mandated by the reading public to do so. It also takes the cudgel of preserving the truth amidst threats or intimidations effected by influential public figures. In other words, they are the true advocates of TRANSPARENCY and COURAGE!
My second choice of newspaper is the Philippine Star because the columnists in their editorial or opinion section are highly commendable due to the fact that the topics, included in such section, try to educate the common people, in some way or another. The best example would be Atty. Jose C. Sison's column: "A law each day keeps the trouble away."
If you were to be asked, what would be your response when somebody asks you about your favorite daily broadsheet? The following are the major newspapers within the metropolis:
1. Business Mirror;
2. Business World;
3. Daily Tribune;
4. Malaya;
5. Manila Bulletin;
6. Manila Standard;
7. Manila Times;
8. Philippine Daily Inquirer;
9. Philippine Journal; and
10. Philippine Star.
May I reiterate, what newspaper do you usually read? Good day and may God bless us all! Thank you very much!

Philippines Star - this is what I see lying around so that's what I read. emmmm I think its more like "browsing" bec. most of its sections, at times, feel like its an advertorial. I do read the editiorial, opinions and business columns.
The Wall Street Journal Asia - this is what I subscribe to.
