With the number of books a child has to carry everyday to school, it's bordering child abuse if the child carries it all on backpack.

distribute the books into two bags.
one bag per hand.

isang tablet or laptop lang!

For Grade 1, they have 5 textbooks, 4 workbooks, 7 notebooks, pad paper. They need to bring them everyday. Worried lang din ako kasi grade school ko nadevelop yung scolio ko. Ganun din kadami dala ko noon at backpack pa. Kaya naisip ko mas mabuti siguro muna ito.

There are schools that opted for ebooks during this pandemic, there are those who still chose physical text books. Maybe in private schools they can give the kids options to remain on ebooks kahit face-to-face na. A cheap tablet would suffice. Maybe they can do it in public schools too pero I'm sure marami parents mag reklamo na dagdag gastos ang tablet.

During my kid's grade 1, maybe more than a decade ago. Ibang araw ibang subject. Kaya they don't need to bring all the books, it helps pero mabigat pa rin kahit kalahati lang dala books and notebooks.

I remember during my time, public school, hindi kami sumusunod sa textbook, iilan subject lang kailangan dalhin textbook. Kaya hindi mabigat ang bag. Pero kung kailangan mag review aasa ka notes mo dahil hindi gaano ka related yung text book.

Laptop for my kid, bumigay na yung old laptop na gamit since HS. Umabot din 5 years. Sulit na din.

it's the old unit's in-ability to handle new applications...

i still have an old pentium, a nokia E90, and an old palm 3.
working still.
but i can't even give them away.
"too ancient", my sons say.

we also have an old dell.
the battery is dead, and no reeplacemeent available.
it has to be plugged, if it were to be used.

Yung luma kong laptop wala na rin battery, half of the screen has pink tint na. Pero napakinabangan pa ng anak ko as web server for her school project.

Kung tech heavy use I agree, napag-lulumaan ng software yung hardware. Pero mga 2-3 years lang naman yan. Ito bugbog na at nabuhusan pa kasi ng tubig dati.
