We have lots of cross pens pero bigay lahat. We don't want to buy expensive pens for personal use kasi pens are easy to lose. Mahal na ang pen, mahal din ang refill.

I never owned a shirt that costs above 700 kesos. I just don't know how much ang cost ng branded shirts na bigay din lang din sa akin as pasalubong. I recall someone gifted me a Lacoste shirt from divisoria. Ilang laba lang losyang na agad [emoji28]

My Dad gave me a cross pen in the 90s that I used all throughout college. I was so careful not to lose it. Nung HS uso Parker [emoji23]

Last time I gifted a Lacoste shirt was prepandemic pa, cheapest ata P4500. It lasts long naman so I think worth it

    parker-type refills from shopee.

from time to time, we get gifted by "suppliers" with parker ballpens.
alas, the ink is always black.
    blue kasi ang type ko.
i get my blue refills from shopee/lazada. i discovered them when i couldn't find refills from national atbp. effect of the covid pandemic, no doubt.
at shopee prices, i can't complain too much about whatever shortcomings the refills might come up with.

ergonomically, however, i prefer the fat sheaffers over the parkers.
but there ain't no sheaffer refills no 'mo, even as i have several sheaffers, purchased from 'way back. yung 4 for a thousand Xmas promo.
did you know, that trimming off 2.5 mm from the parker refill's plastic top, results in a sheaffer-capable refill?
    heh heh.

i noticed, that the older i got, the fatter my preferred ballpen got...
we started from the slim cross, back in the 70s. at that time, "ang mahal!"

PPR welder and cutter. 3 years ago, I bought a welder for 1k and the cutter for 500. Now they are bundled for less than 700 kesos.

Nasira sa hiraman ang old welder and cutter ko [emoji24]

Is that not a brand of stethoscope that most medical students prefer to use?

    yespo.
it's a relatively high-end stethoscope that is extremely popular in the profession.

i was just wondering if it had another connotation.
majority of the tsikoters here kasi, are not doctors and, i daresay, might not be familiar with the word.

Are there other brands as good as or better than Littmann?

    littmann is the class favorite.
it has several variations to enhance certain characteristics.
there's a heavy cardio model, for superior (daw) sound quality, but at the expense of higher price, heavier product, and stiffer rubber.
then there's the pediatric model, with smaller bell and diaphragm.

sprague rappaport is favored by some physicians. but it is heavier and bulkier.
back when we were trainees, we secretly wanted a rappaport. yung genuine, ha, hindi yung fake. yes, there were fakes, even 40 years ago.

i am sure there are more expensive non-cardio-non-littmen,
    but they're... not very popular.
"not popular", meaning, kakaunti lang ang gumagamit.

one thing we universally didn't like,
    the cheap china.
masakit sa tenga, at matigas ang goma.

my very first littman is over 40 years old and still with me, although the rubber is stiff and the tubing clogged.
it cost me 200 bucks back then. today, the model goes for about 5K upwards.

you can guess a physician's -handedness, by the way the steth hangs around his neck.

Thanks, it was a good read coming from a physician
