Mga Sir, stupid question.. Pero itatanong ko na lang din, bakit po kailangan ng carlink or auto dongle sa mga head unit nyo? Anong functionality yung wala sa HU bakit kailangan nito?

For me it's the wireless connection of my phone to the head unit. My head unit has Apple carplay and Android auto. Only Apple carplay has wireless feature. So for me to use Android auto, i need to use a wire everytime I enter. By attaching an Android auto dongle, i eliminate the wire to my phone so even if it's in my pocket, it gets connected to my head unit automatically.

What model is that? I have the Carlinkit 4.0 CP2A which I enjoy and an AA Wireless dongle for another vehicle. Both give me great wireless android auto connectivity but I prefer the latter.

for me, it's an extension of my phone. instead of using a car phone holder, naka connect fone ko sa HU using android auto kaya much bigger screen when using Waze or Google Maps. although naka android HU na ako, pero low end specs kasi kaya mabagal yung mga apps hehe pag naka android auto, yung processing ng apps eh nasa phone mo kaya much faster. yung mga bagong android HU ngayon may built-in carplay & AA na kaya no need na ng dongle. cheapest na nakita ko yung Astral, less than 10k

I'm also interested. Currently I can mirror my android phone to the HU using cable and autolink app installed to my phone. Although the HU itself isn't android. Ginagawa nya eh mirror lang ng HU yung phone screen and I can use the HU to tap and control the phone.

Using this dongle means I don't have to use a cable anymore, and jt will do the same? Mirror the phones screen? Or am I talking of a different tech altogether?

The use I can see here eh you can use the HU as waze, Google map. Or even watch Netflix on HU. Probably use tsikot app on your HU. [emoji23]

Correct me if I'm wrong. Just checked google and it does say that the recent models have Apple carplay and Android connectivity. If that's what you have then yes, the dongle i mentioned doesn't need a cable to the phone anymore. It makes your Android phone connect wirelessly to your HU. I'm curious about what you said though that you still use an app called Autolink? Mine doesn't use any additional app on the phone, just Android auto when I had it connected via a cable. Then when I ditched the cable for the dongle, in this case, AA Wireless placed on our Fortuner, that's when I downloaded their app for making updates and others. But it's still Android auto app that controls it. Here's how my setup looks like. That small box like thing on the left beneath the AC buttons is what gives me wireless connectivity. So my Android phone is either placed on the wireless charger below it or in my pocket.

Hindi ko kabisado si auto link. But they way i understand it is it just mirrors your phone. Your stock HU has no Apple carplay or Android auto?

Autolink is tedious relative to AA. If your Suzuki HU doesn't have AA/CP, get in touch w/ Winterpine Mktg Corp. They officially handle Suzuki's HU updates. Pre-'22 JB74s can now have AA/CP thru them, warranty won't be voided.

I wonder if my other dongle will work on that? My Carlinkit CP2A rides on Apple carplay and transforms it into wireless Android auto. It works differently from my other dongle made by AA Wireless which uses Android auto direct. If you're curious to see how it'll go i can let you give it a try.
