    My girlfriend wouldn't mind not having a ring, but personally I think she deserves one. If I can spend on toys like my camera or my car, surely I can spend for something she can keep forever. 😊

    Not really. If that were the case then few people would own a house or car. Not everyone earns a monthly million peso salary or profit.

    I think it's okay to save for "wants" on top of regular savings.

    Vodka is probably referring to the thread in general. I don't think it applies to engagement rings and other important things. If you didn't have to save for it, it wouldn't be special now, would it?

    Proposing with a ring... Mukhang nauuso na ulit ito noh? Dati kasi, or maybe until now, ang uso, engagement is dahil nabuntis.

    Proposed to my ex-girlfriend with a ring as well, somehow, I think that helped things to fall in their right places. Yung bang parang dahil nasimulan ng tama, nagtuloy tuloy. Mga ganun. :D
