A lot of the things described in this thread also apply to Brazil, where I'm currently living. Excessive influence of religion, stereotypes among rich and poor, corruption, taxes, cars costing about 4 times what they would cost in the 1st-world countries, and incapacity to solve problems...

^^ that is the biggest problem here, too much politics even in gov't agencies where power grabbing makes Tom Clancy's novel look like run of the mill novels.

I have the people's sensitivity when being criticized. Its very difficult for pinoys to take the criticism then learn and improve from it.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
