Indeed, traffic was light tonight. I didn't encounter traffic from Balintawak to Pasig. Pleasantly surprising.

Another pleasant surprise was that there was no flooding in the usual spots I expected. I passed by A. Boni, E. Rod, and Shaw, all flood-prone. But despite the *******ial rain, the most I encountered were deep puddles.

What sucked though were the overnight potholes that popped up. NLEX, OG Road, SCTEX, and the major roads in Manila all had lots of potholes that weren't there last week. Shows how much our government steals from our road budget. Annoying.

The local government of Valenzuela City has called for the evacuation of residents near Tullahan riveron Friday.

"Mayor Rex Gatchalian recommends forced evacuation for residents living in low-lying areas particularly near Tullahan river due to possible over spilling of La Mesa Dam," a public advisory posted on the city Facebook page said.

As of6 a.m., the water level of La Mesa Dam has reached 79.98 meters, which is near the spilling level of 80.15 meters, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The city government has released a list of evacuation centers in the area, posted below.

Residents who may need rescuing may call the Valenzuela City rescue unit at (02) 292 1405 or (02) 352 2000.

Metro Manila and nearby provinces continue to be affected by heavy rainfall due to monsoon rains enhanced by Typhoon "Falcon" (international name: Chan-Hom).
