Filipinos will have to brace for more rains as the southwest monsoon may start affecting some parts of the country this weekend or early next week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.“The reason why the southwest monsoon has not yet reached the country is the ridge of high-pressure area,” Perez said.
“By this weekend or next week we expect more frequent rains and these will not be just isolated rains,” he said.
Perez said they expect the start of the rainy season in the third week or last week of this month despite the possible entry of the southwest monsoon this week
