Nasa st lukes qc ako kanina nung umulan ng malakas. Paglabas namin ni misis sa ospital ay napadaan kami sa isang creek (di ko alam ang lugar na yun) at ito ay halos apaw na sya. Sabi ko kay wifey malamang pag lampas namin ay di malayo na aapaw yon dahil parang papalakas pa lang ang agos. Sana di nangyari ang hinala ko.

Filipinos will have to brace for more rains as the southwest monsoon may start affecting some parts of the country this weekend or early next week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.

“The reason why the southwest monsoon has not yet reached the country is the ridge of high-pressure area,” Perez said.
“By this weekend or next week we expect more frequent rains and these will not be just isolated rains,” he said.
Perez said they expect the start of the rainy season in the third week or last week of this month despite the possible entry of the southwest monsoon this week

Two possible storms off PH Pagasa

A possible tropical cyclone may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) next week, the weather bureau said Monday.

A low pressure area (LPA) was last spotted some 1,500 to 2,000 kilometers over the Pacific Ocean, Gladys Saludes, weather forecaster from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said by phone.

The LPA had a big chance of intensifying into a tropical depression and entering the PAR next week, she said.

Another LPA, which may also develop into a storm, was also spotted some 500 kilometers east of the country.

An intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms on Monday, Pagasa said.

The rains may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

In Visayas, light to moderate rains will prevail. In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains will prevail.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the whole archipelago with slight to moderate seas, Pagasa said.

LPA now tropical depression Egay, to pull habagat

The low pressure are (LPA) near Catanduanes has developed into a tropical depression and was locally named "Egay."

Egay, was last observed 520 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, Jori Loiz of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said by phone.

The cyclone packed maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, and was moving north northwest at 5 kph.

Loiz said Egay would pull the southwest monsoon, or habagat, and dump moderate to heavy rain within its 300-km diameter.

The tropical depression is still too far to affect any part of the country, the forecaster said.

Fishermen are also advised to avoid the eastern seaboard of the Bicol and Eastern Visayan regions.

Egay could move closer towards Northern Luzon but it's not likely to make landfall, Loiz said.

The weather bureau is also tracking a severe tropical storm and a low pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

Loiz said that Chan-hom (international name) was last located 3,090 kilometers east of Visayas, while the LPA was 2,275 kilometers east of Mindanao.
