MANILA -- The temperature in Metro Manila dropped to 16.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning, the lowest since year 2014 started, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA said Metro Manila's coldest temperature so far was recorded at 6:20 a.m. at Science Garden in Quezon City.
Meanwhile, temperature in Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - Bicutan also dropped to 18.3 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m., according to Project Noah executive director Dr. Mahar Lagmay.
PAGASA explained the the chilly weather the country has been experiencing is due to the presence of the northeast monsoon or amihan.
Speaking to radio dzMM, weather forecaster Glaiza Escullar said the country will continue to experience cool weather until the second week of March.
