    Thoughts.

    1. Before building bike lanes, maybe they could clear out the sidewalks first of stupid stuff like makeshift vendors/carinderias, potted plants and tricycle parking lots? Maybe that way groups of people would stop walking on the road in a line perpendicular to the road like a set of bowling pins.

    2. There's already a severe lack of roads in MM due to the quantity of cars out there and bicycle people want to even decrease that just so that they can 'feel' safer. Right.

2.5. "Oh, then you should ditch your car and bike with us to solve congestion!" That's not really a solution, is it? Not all people want to arrive at their destination sweating like a pig.

    3. I'm all for dedicated bike lanes. That way, it'll be safer for both bikers and motorists: bikers wouldn't have to worry about motor vehicles and motorists wouldn't have to change lane every time there's a bicycle on the leftmost lane (traditionally the 'fast' lane) slowing down traffic. *But* it has to be done smartly, to which the current solution proposed isn't.

In the end, all these problems would be solved if you just strike at the root cause of it all: Philippine road culture.

For those who want bike lanes...

    Maybe we also have these:
-license plates for bicycles. (road rules, etc).
-drivers licenses for bicycle riders who use their bikes on public roads.
-road tax for bicycles (everyone else pays them for using public roads, so why not bikes as well?)
-bicycles should follow road traffic rules. This means stopping at red traffic lights, no swerving, have the minimum safety gear (helmets, lights, mirrors, reflectors)

2022... we have bike lanes na at the expense of 1 full car lane!

so roads na dating 2 lanes are down to 1.5 lanes thanks to our "bike lanes"

    ***

anyway, for those times na biglang nawala yung bike lang

e.g. BGC 32nd st going to C5 after 5th st.
    and
    C5 Northbound before McKinley

do you stay away from the right most lane thinking na "bike lane" sya kahit wala naman guhit?

hindi effective ang bikelane kung same road pa din sa kotse.

    key is exclusive, elevated, covered.
