I'm just wondering, would that bait car operation in the US work in a Philippines scenario?

For those who doesn't know bait car, a bunch of police operatives and undercover cops will use a car that's equipped with cameras, remote shutdown and remote lock. Leave it open in a ghetto neighborhood. Once a carnapper starts driving it cops will then remote shutdown the engine and remote lock the car and catch the carnapper.

As long as merong legal reasons kaya ka gumagawa ng entrapment operation, di yan kaya buwaginsa korte.

AFAIK, most of the police operations involving drug busts are entrapment operations...

pero sabi sa batas, a person shall remain innocent until tried guilty in the court of law!

my due process kasi, kahit sa US ganyan rin.

drug busts are not entrapment and legal if the court orders a warrant. to have a warrant, the court determines if there is probable cause to search. on a set up like the TS stated, it is entrapment since there is no warrant. there was no probable cause yet.

FYI, Entrapment is not illegal, it is allowed by our law. Ang illegal, Instigation.
