one thing that probably made you "versatile" is that you never learned to say "that's not my job"! pag yun ang natutunan mo sabihin sa bossing nakow for sure you ain't got no job no more dude! ang mga ibang lahi kasi pag binigyan ng work na labas sa job description nila sasabihin "ain't my job" agad kaya madali din silang matanggal sa position. tayong mga pinoy pag in-assign sa ibang work sige kayod lang ng kayod, take it as an opportunity to learn and grow di ba mga tsongs! sabi nga, paano ka maging manager at bossing one day pag job mo lang ang alam mo, di ba dapat alam mo lahat. lalo na sa high tech jobs gaya ng sa iyo pards.

Hehehe...
Very good point you raised here. I go on a business trip. When my foreign peers see me doing this and that, they tell me that I should charge more or complain, etc. since the stuff I'm doing is not part of my job description. But now that you've mentioned it...this very same thing will somehow protect me from the dreaded axe when the time comes (knock on wood...)

yebo, natumbok mo about "its not on my job description..." ganun ang attitude nya. I guess its too late for him to play politics.
eto mga natanggal so far:
1 Photographer; matagal na dapat wala ito, wala namang ginagawa unless its christmas or holiday season
1 Receptionist; Too many part-time receptionist
1 Remedy System Programmer; Our database is already up and running, isang programmer lang ang kailangan to maintain the database
2 PC Installer; I see these two chatting on the iNet while there are tons of PC's to install. Saka 1 installer binibigyan nila ng 2 systems to install in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Wow, thats a lot of time!
1 Computer Test Technician; eto ang old position ko
1 Building Safety Facilitator; a dedicated safety officer...waste of money nga naman.
Sade; Support Center/Helpdesk Program Manager (this should be dissolved kse 15 people lang naman ang nasa support center)
John; Assistant to the above (this position should be dissolved)
Andre; Helpdesk Supervisor (this guy can manage or supervise those 15 helpdesk)
Kurikong; some type of Program Manager na trip na trip mag BBQ
Asawa ni Kurikong; jusko, matagal na 'to dapat na-alis, pa kyut lang to eh
One of this should be dissolved, why do we need two supervisors for 6 PC analysts?
David; Field Supervisor
Marie; Field Supervisor
Mahilig kse ang organization namin sa style na "assistan manager to the assistant manager of the manager in the program management"
Bad trip yung contract negotiator ng client namin sa dahilan ng negotiator namin na "we cannot afford to finance our workforce." sagot ng client namin "hand me your organizational chart and I will solve your budget" :hihihi:

Ganyan na talaga ang trend ngayon. Restructuring..termination..lay-offs whatever you call it.
Horizontal na ang management.
Mas efficient at mas mura!
