it is not masters and their pets. in the philippines, a few of our social climbers and wannabes take their pets to the mall and restaurants. little do they know, some people are allergic to pets and no matter how clean and "sanitized" your pets are, it does not belong in public places specially at food establishments and restaurants. pets are different from working dogs, be it seeing eye dogs, military and police K 9 which are there to do their job or duty. these irresponsible pet owners not only endanger the general public but also are not doing their pets a favor. pets do not enjoy being in public and are exposed to hazards, unfavorable environment and exposure to possible diseases around them. so why are these social climbers flaunting their pets to show off as if the mall is a dog show? perhaps they want to tell other people they are "soshall". rich people or classy people don't do that. not connect the dots

I beg to disagree bro. Rich and influential people actually do that. Paris Hilton carries her chihuahua in an LV bag. That is one of the reasons the soshalls are imitating the rich and famous. I have a maltese but I dont bring her to the mall as she gets too stressed and shivers endlessly even if I just bring to her vet or get a grooming which incidentally inside a mall.

Nouveau rich like to flaunt their money kaya. Seriously, I wouldn't generalize that they are all social climbers. There are pet friendly malls where owners can bring their dogs to socialize with other dogs eg Serendra, High street and Tiendesitas. I've contemplated on bringing my fat lab there since her doctor is in the area but I wasn't sure how she will react to other dogs. And like you mentioned, she might get sick pa from other dogs. I really cannot risk that.

What I really hate are people who treat pets as accessories. It became a fad since small dogs are cheaper to maintain and accessible to most people. Having a dog is a big responsibility.

Our golden gets really excited when shes in the car. As in magulo. Cute nun tuta pa, but now that shes almost a full grown 15month old pup, masakit na! So until she mellows down, which wont be for quite a while, no gimiks for her. Still a cutie though!

And i wasnt aware you could bring your pets to malls like SM, and Ayala Malls, as in outside the pet/grooming shops. Wala lang akong napapansin siguro. Sa mga tiende, high street, given. If youre allergic, its probably best to stay away from such establishments anyway.

Kwento ka naman sir kimbon...oh the stories you may tell :naughty2:

We have some neighbors that let their dog walk around and take a dump right at our gate. Buti hindi na umulit, i was tempted to leave some Dora-flavored goodies there.

In a somewhat related scenario, nag construction sa tapat ng bahay namin a few years back, and the workers/guards kept some cats as pets. Up to that point there were 0 cats in our area; right now they're nesting at my kapitbahay's bodega, tipping over our trash, you get the picture.

Dunno, at some point they stop becoming pets and start becoming pests.

I hate cats!!! Nagtataka ako dati bakit parating may poop sa grass sa harap ng bahay. There are no stray dogs in our street so I suspected that one of our neighbors would let their dog poop in front of our house. Then I found out it was cat poop pala. I used to have a spray gun with vinegar that I use when I see those cats. I thought cats buried their poop. Di pala lahat.

Kabaliktaran naman case sa amin. Cats have our backyard to roam around, and they weren't even our pets. Fortunately hindi naman sila nagkakalat ng poop or naninira ng gamit. They just rest under the shade of the trees. Mas problema namin yung mga askal ng kapitbahay. Laging may "deposit" sa driveway namin.
