been there january 02, mas okay dati though much harder coz you really have to trek some few kilometers, almost 8 hrs ang lakad namin, we slept at the mouth of pinatubo for a night, we swim at the crater, pero yung pababa ng crater nag rapel pa kami kasi it more of a virgin place then, though we already see some greens, mostly what you can view are white, imagine white alps, its once experience i wont forget=)

Kimpoy, Thanks! Mas trip nga sana namin yong 3hrs trekking but kasama mga kids. Two way kasi ang going up to crater.Nakapunta din kami two years ago, lubid ang gamit going down to crater sobrang hirap noon 8hrs yata trekking namin noon and malalaki yong bato mas virgin pa Mt.Pinatubo then. Sa sobrang hirap ko noon hindi ko napansin yong digicam ko nawala ko hindi ko na alam kung saan nalaglag.

totoybato, you can swim at the crater and going down sa paanan ng Pinatubo may HOTSPRING very relaxing talaga and may SPA na.

To those who want to go there you can park your car at the DOT center and rent a 4WD ang dami doon 2.5k for the whole trip and 500 for the tour guide(Expect very dusty road). Tour guide is compulsory na. To help the local peeps daw.

yes iba talaga pag umulan. yung rover namin dumudulas pa sa mga bato. pero nung nasa patag na kami sarap parang nakalutang ang rover sa tubig. ang bilis pang umangat ang tubig sa ilog.

i think classified as dormant yan Mt. Pinatubo, kumbaga in 100 years or so interval pa. a 20 yr. old graduate can invest in a spa and resort at the mouth of the lake, and 40 years after (before being a senior citizen) , he takes all the profits. and still Mt. Pinatubo is 60 years eruption-free. hehehe

sobrang rough or steep ba ang mga roads diyan? i mean if you're using an all-wheel-drive vehicle, kaya naman siguro mag trekking?

Kaya naman ng all wheel drive at this time of the year but rainy season kahit siguro yong Montero baka hindi kaya.

From the DOT center simpleng offroad lang going to the crater but from the crater going to HOT SPRING area medyo sayad siguro ang CRV,RAV4,and Outlander. IMHO

Starting point po is in Capaz, Tarlac. There is a resort there (Korean owned) that provides Pinatubo trek packages. They also have an office here in Metro Manila.

cant imagine na Mt Pinatubo is now destination to see.

    share ko lang peeps.....

way back 1991, parang end of the world nung sumabog yan....day turned into darkness, pula ang kidlat, kakaibang tunog ng thunder (echoing), ground was shaking from time to time and to top it all it was raining sand, and stone ocassionally. halos 24 hours ganun........parang di matapos tapos.

looking back, hirap pa rin isipin how we survived that day.
