So... to cure population growth... turn our entire country into cubicle workers. Population growth should halt overnight.
Many Japanese yuppies only make enough money for themselves. Family is out of the question. Sa Singapore naman, the goverment has to entice foreigners to immigrate cuz their program for its citizens to have bigger families with tax incentives seems to be faltering...

In 2008, the total fertility rate was only 1.28 children per woman, the 3rd lowest in the world and well below the 2.10 needed to replace the population. In 2008, 39,826 babies were born, compared to around 37,600 in 2005. This number, however, is not sufficient to maintain the population's growth. To overcome this problem, the government is encouraging foreigners to immigrate to Singapore. These large numbers of immigrants have kept Singapore's population from declining.

They're still poor and working. As opposed to those in third-world countries, who are poor and jobless. That's the important difference. They have to work hard just to maintain their lifestyle.

The Japanese choose to remain single to be able to afford their lifestyle. While many of his third world counterpart choose to create a family they can't afford and fall deeper into poverty...

Puro threat threat pa itong si Odchimar.

Put your money where your mouth is and just issue the excommunication already. That way, you and the CBCP can just fade away into irrelevance. The CBCP and its esteemed members were never elected or appointed to run this country. I dont know why they've arrogated unto themselves this function, but one message is clear: STOP MEDDLING.

You've had your chances in denouncing graft and corruption in the highest levels government many times over the past nine (9) years and yet chose to turn a blind eye. What makes you think you're any more credible to the people you claim to serve now?

What a bunch of pompous, self-righteous, pieces of s#hit. Grrrr.....

celdran has always been opinionated. but i never thought he'd be that industrious enough to do all those engaging touring walks in manila because he was often asleep in class

but i do get his point and i do agree w/ him. the church has been obtuse all these years and any change they feel threatening to their cause is automatically labeled as evil and immoral. i can't fathom why the catholic church refuses to budge an inch to what they know as an archaic way of thinking in a dynamic and organic modern world.

bakit sisisihin natin ang catholic church? sila ba ang gumagawa na batas?

ang dapat kutusan ay mga mambabatas. kung may balls ang mga leaders natin, kahit anung threat ng catholic church, hindi sila matatakot.

IMO, celdran is barking at the wrong tree.

In light of the recent *** scandal, it would appear not all of them are...

And virginity is not a requirement for priesthood. Celibacy after vows is, but that doesn't mean the priest has to have been celibate beforehand.

And that's partly due to education, isn't it? If it were just culture, the Japanese and Singaporeans are Asian, just like us, with a similar view on the value of family. Modern living reshapes social values, and causes birth rates to drop. Those values won't change if those modern people suddenly become poor again, because people in that system will not want to become any poorer.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
