Til Pad Thai is not an authentic thai traditional dish. Apparently, it was concocted by their Thai tourism board (or somebody like that) , catered for foreigners, to add mystique to their cultural legacy.

Ingenious and disingenuous all at the same time

The song "Mah Nà Mah Nà" was from a 1968 exploitation film "Sweden: Heaven and Hell."

    heh heh.

    as an aside,
bahasa indonesia is the national language of indonesia. but it is not a natural language, if there is such a thing.
instead, it is a politically-motivated standardized variety of malay.

Bahasa Indonesia is the national language of Indonesia, while Bahasa Pilipinas is the national problem of the Philippines.

it is the general belief that our dogs evolved from wolves.

read an article a few weeks back, on a modern experiment. don't recall all the minute details, but here's the gist.
the researchers got a bunch of wolves, and thru the years, chose from the offspring the one that seemed friendly, regardless of how it looked, bred it and followed the line down the road.
over the generations, they noticed that the next offspring was turning out to be the friendly family dog that we are so familiar with.
all they wanted was a friendlier animal. how the rest of the characteristics seemed to fall into place...
    truly, evolution in process.

Yup, dogs and wolves are related. I am reminded of that whenever I see a husky. If you can share a link to that recent study, I would be interested.

Here's an interesting article. Reminds me of Jurassic Park!

TIL ... Something is wrong with Tsikot when using Firefox. But using Chrome, it is okay though still not fully functional (cannot load emoticons; no insert video or photo option, etc)

I wonder why. What is it, pancit?

Probably because the site was tailored to Chrome. The Admin did say that tweaks (bigger and brighter features?) are being made so let's wait and see.

Scientists Say Cockroach Milk More Nutritious Than Cow Milk | Health and Me
    by Riya Baibhawi
    Mar 11, 2025

According to emerging studies, a milk-like fluid produced by the Pacific beetle cockroach (Diploptera punctata) could be up to three times more nutritious than cow’s milk. This surprising discovery has generated interest among nutritionists due to the milk’s dense nutritional profile — rich in proteins, fats, and sugars — potentially making it one of the most nutrient-packed substances on Earth.

Interesting, my car has a "Consider taking a break" warning reminder with chime on the MID every few hours/hundred kilometers. Context: took a 13hour long drive.

i prefer the physical diario. i derive comfort and satisfaction in holding the broadsheets with my hands and scanning the print bigtime.
i find searching using monitors and small screens, tiresome.
