Yung iba, kalahating araw lang reporting hours nila. Yung battalion namin, whole day Saturday tapos may extra lessons pa ng Sunday morning.

Meron nga nag sapuso bro like I said [emoji2]

Iba kasi sa amin nun, kanya kanya diskarte how to get away, get a free pass.

Tapos free ka na the whole day.

For some odd reason lahat ng bakla automatic medic naman [emoji15] hahaha

If I will be asked, gawin optional oo for gaya mo na hilig din.

Haha I remember ROTC during college sa UST din. You were only allowed 3 cuts per sem. If lampas dun P50 per lampas na day ang bayad (medyo malaki na rin yun that time). They would then open the drawer of the desk (which wad full of money) to drop your money there. After that, pasado ka na!

Sa battalion namin before, lahat dadaan sa usual training incorporation. You only get to wear the honor guard uniform after competing the training. 15 days yung usual number of ROTC sessions in a semester and yung first 10 days ang incorporation, di nga days kasi weekends yun for us. If you quit within those 10 training days, you can transfer to the common battalions. We start our day at 6am and end at 5pm, extra session on Sundays when needed.

After the 10 training days, battalion officers assign the cadets to a squad and, also select medics, HQ staff, and cadet NCOs. Yung may mga kotse, ginagawang ride for hauling equipment and moving people to special training sessions outside campus.

Later on, alam namin kung sino absent kasi missing sa squad nya. Good fellowship arose from the hard training days. On our 2nd year, kami naman nagtuturo doon sa new batch.

Below is the formal dress of the UPROTC Rayadillo. We wear Army fatigues on normal days with a maroon beret.

    rayadillo! pat pat.. pat pat.

they recruited me from battery, dahil matangkad daw ako.
i quit after the first meeting.

    i remember,
nowadays, sobra-sobra ang haircut.. mapapahiya yung mga diehards noon, if they saw them now.

Sa Field Artillery BN ka pala, Doc? Mayrun din mga brave souls from Infantry and Battery who tried to join but most of them quit after a few days.

Haircut namin noon halos same - mukhang Aguinaldo. Hahahaha

high.. dee.. high.. dee.. high.. dee.. hey!
    handsome men are marching by!

i could hack the physical exercise, naman. even relish it.
but "i had other plans for my weekends."
    heh heh.

    to the young 'uns,
the rayadillo outfit seen above is similar to the ones the spanish-era guardia wore.
rayadillo refers to the striped blue and white cloth their uniforms were made of.

The light color pattern of the Rayadillo was primarily used by the Filipino revolutionary army. It has similarities though with the uniform of the Spanish Guardia Civil. The “guinnet” head gear is already a UPROTC design. During the days of Aguinaldo and Luna, the Filipino troops used mostly the salakot and balanggot (straw hat).

Ako pinakapa-pandak at palaging bench. Ok lang basta walang army cut. Ngayon kalbo na ako. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

In my days (90s), the Rayadillo used M14s from the UPROTC armory. Most other battalions use the wooden copies of the Springfield rifle which were light but not durable. These wooden copies will break during drills unlike the M14s which are quite robust.

our springfields back then, were real.
it is a shame that, for security reasons, they removed the bolts.
the bolt action would have been nice to play with, during special parade maneuvers.
