i've worked in the US and Asia on short and long term assignments and had the opportunity to migrate but decided it wasn't for me .. my wife also had the same opportunities but decided it wasn't for her as well .. it was good that we were able to try it out so we know what could've been .. and i'm glad we both decided to stay in the philippines .. i think it was the right choice for the both of us .. hindi kami mayaman .. pero hindi naman kami nagugutom .. definitely mas maraming pera if we live and work sa ibang bansa .. here, i'm saddled with a 10 yr mortgage .. rising costs of living .. unsure future for my kid .. pero nung nasa ibang bansa ako .. feeling ko i'm just part of the rat race .. dito .. i may not be richer pero i feel happier ... and at the end of the day .. isn't that what we want to acheive .. so for those leaving .. good luck to you .. for those staying .. safe driving ..

i have moved to the states for the medium term. so far it has been okay. my family is joining me in 2 months. i will stay here until i have enough cash to move back to the Philippines and start a medium scale business without having to borrow over 30% from the bank. plus if i stay here for more than 5 years, i can pass my US citizenship to my kids. an important safety net for my kids, i believe.

we still have our sense of nationalistic and patriotism. we still love the philippines. kaya babalik kami dito kapag naka establish na kami.
