I don't think the dress part is correct here... I think interviewees should be in corporate attire but not to the extent that they are "more dressed" than the interviewee.

honestly, it's always better to be overdressed than underdressed. i would only drop the suit if you're absolutely sure (i.e. the recruiter tells you) that business casual or casual is preferred.

the interviewer won't notice if you're overdressed, but will definitely have a reaction if you're underdressed. so err on the side of caution.
