After reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interna..._School_Manila the 500K/sem fee seems worth while, if you're in that income bracket. ISM is supposed to be the school the children of expats & locals who have a globalist view on the world, our educational system is too inadequate & limited for foreigners.Originally Posted by BlueGirl
Excellent fascilities require a great amount of capital. La Salle/Ateneo education is considered "cheap" by internetional standards because the fascilities arent exactly world class. I'm sure there are those from La salle/Ateneo who'll protest this statement but compare these campuses to that in Stanford/Yale/Harvard/Cambridge/MIT.
Brains & hard work can only bring you so far.

Actually, it can bring you very far. Kids from far crappier schools than La Salle or Ateneo (that's including ours...) with conditions that are decidedly "third world" compared to US schools and the "IS" type schools can top board exams in the US. Facilities don't determine academic competence or technical skill, merely the range of experiences and equipment available to students. It's a deciding factor, maybe, in computer engineering, but for non-technology courses, it's a non-factor.
An idiot studying in a fully computerized classroom with airconditioning and decent lighting still won't be able to do math sums as well as a hard-working student studying under the mango tree.![]()
