the problem with pre-need plans is that they werent able to foresee the 1997 asian financial crisis, 2001's 9/11, the depreciation of peso, impeachment, etc... ayun investments nila nalugi... your money (premium) is invested in stocks, bonds, etc... the prob is nalugi... kaya nalugi rin sila... sa una hindi nila pina-alam (nobody would admit his mistake until hopeless na talaga) so they used the money coming from new accounts to fund the old accounts... pero pagdating sa dulo hindi na nakayanan...

give or take 10-20 years... US pension and social security ang susunod... baka sumunod ang health care ng France after US and another five years... Austria...

ako home-schooled ko rin siguro anak ko... or ateneo/southridge/ism kung lalaki... kung girl... anywhere but ISM... hahaha

ang mandate ng consti natin ay priority ang edukasyon sa budget and not military or anything else (pork barrel)....kaso hindi sinusunod ang consti...tapos gusto nila palitan kasi hindi raw "up to date"....pero kung susundin lang ito, we have all the laws na to run our country properly....kupal lang talaga ang namamalakad.

anyway, I would recommend puting your kids in a public school and supporting their learning at home....there is this na "SPED" or special education group that also caters to the fast learners and gifted kids....pero the SUPPORT AT HOME is still very important.

most parents would rant about the school but they wouldn't rant about themselves not helping their kids at their school works. hindi lang naman sa classroom confined ang edukasyon di ba.

kung nagtitipid ka, you can always go "home-schooling" and almost cut the cost to 1/4th or half na lang. the modules are deped accredited and the kids tend to work more honestly. social development may be hampered ng kaunti pero it could be remedied naman.

the government have the right to do so... after subsidizing the education, filipinos go abroad... bad return on investment...

fyi: there are thousands of scholarships and financial aid na hindi naclaim ng mga tao... why? hindi dahil it is marketed or well-informed yun mga tao, kung hindi dahil maraming tao tamad maghanap ng scholarships and financial aid/grants

our company ata is willing to sponsor a kid sa college (up/ust lang ata) basta dapat may maintain na avg and civil engineering ang course (should also work for the company to repay in the future)

and for me grade school is very critical sa kid, history memorization made a lot of difference once nasa executive team ka na... ma-apply mo yun concepts... one of the tenets of life is history repeats itself, not the act itself but the concept...

ako rather than getting an atenean, id rather get someone sa ua&p... feeling ko masmura/cost-effective... although sa managerial position (middle management/executive) sa hindi bookish na atenean ako...

priorities at personal values yan I know someone who married but do not want kids. He is malaysian. Expat, in another country. Very well paid, kaya magka-anak. Sabi nya ayaw nya magkaroon ng anak, kase sa culture daw nila, masyadong inaalagaan ng magulang ang mga anak kahit matanda na. nagbibigay ng pera, pinagluluto pa rin etc. you can interpret it it alot of ways... ayaw nya yun responsibility, natrauma sya sa culture nila, etc. kakahiya itanong eh, tsismo ba naman? hahaha

Quality education is a commodity. It behaves like a commodity (like oil, gold, copper). As demand for quality education grows, the price goes up.

Grads of prestigious schools are hired not just coz of the standard of education they received.

They are hired for their culture, breeding, and connections.

    holy macau!!!

paano na makakapag aral ang anak nang isang maralitang manggagawa.

Ang mahirap lalo naghihirap dahil hindi nila kaya makakuha nang magandang edukasyon para makatulong sa kanilang kinabukasan.

Only the few can afford that kind of money... paano na... paano...

Usually pinapatigil nalang sa pag aaral ang mga bata. Pinatatrabaho nalang.

Thats why they cant get out of poverty. Poverty is a hole many cant get out of. Its a vicious cycle --- generation after generation.

    Its survival of the fittest.

Everyone in this world is competing for resources. Education makes u more competitive.

Parents with the means to give their offspring good education gives them a higher chance of survival in this competitive world.

Those who cant give their offspring good education will see their offspring get left behind.

Thats the way it is. Its cold and ruthless. its natural selection.

kaya ako isa lang ang anak ko. i'd rather have only one child and be able to send her to a good school, that to have two kids and don't have the means to send them to school. of course i would lke to have another child, but only if i can provide the same comforts to both.

yun ibang co-workers ni misis ang tapang, ayaw siguraduhin yung family planning during one of their discussions. di nag tagal nalaman niya na buntis nanaman siya, on ther 4th kid, de wala siyang magawa kung di umiyak. di pa nagtapos dun. just before she gives birth, they recommended na mag patali na. alam nyo kung ano sinagot? "eh paano kung gusto ko pa ng isa pa?" ok, so she started taking the pill after giving birth, but she prefered the expensive brand. after a while, she declares that she can't afford to buy this brand but she's not willing to try other brands. so, she decides to undergo ligation, which was suggested to her earlier. it would have been cheaper if she had the proceedure done during labor.

kung di mo kaya suportahan ang mahigit sa isang anak, sino ba ang pumipilit sa iyo na mag-anak ng mag-anak.
