Puede at nakaputok na. That sounded, er, hehehehe

What got me is that a day before, Phivolcs said in its alert that "xxx (t)his means that hazardous eruption is not imminent."

The Taal eruption totally caught Phivolcs off guard at wala man lang escalation ng alert level.

Taal in the past 24-hour period: TAAL VOLCANO BULLETIN 27 February 221 8: A.M.

This is the 1st time that Taal recorded double digits in volcanic quakes and triple digits in tremors

PHIVOLCS has been telling people to stay away from the Volcano Island since the 1990s.

Phivolcs was caught off guard by the eruption in 2020.

Their alert level the day before the eruption said that it (eruption) was not imminent.

    And then boom!

Science of prediction is still not mature. Give a country that has been able to give a warning before an eruption? Japan? US? Indonesia? New Zealand?

Earthquakes and volcano eruptions can happen all of a sudden. At least with volcanic eruptions there are early signs.

Just be ready to drop, cover and hold, then bugout!

True. But with the right instruments and proper monitoring, it can be done.

    An example?

Right in our own backyard. The US military evacuated Subic and Clark just a few days before Pinatubo erupted. They knew but Phivolcs, if I remember correctly, pooh poohed them.

Sige lang patayo pa ng condo. Pag bumiyak lupa tingnan ko lang. TApos kagalingan right again.

Poverty pushes poor people to grab the dragger. It's not stupidity, also not something limited to nationality.

Hopefully it does. It's been in an up-down-up-down situation.

I agree. Taal has been pretty much ... moody.

Can't deduce any trend yet, whether it is worsening or improving.

Let's see what happens in the next five days.
