On another note since someone posted the Cristine Reyes roof top thing earlier. I read on another site she was rescued by Richard Gutierrez but he only rescued her and ignored the plea of a man with his infant child who had been on the roof of another house. The guy swam to the boat and he didn't help them not even the infant. If it's true he is the biggest prick in the world. Heck, they had a speed boat they could have kept rescuing others while they were there.

Please share your stories here about your experiences in the tragedy that took place last Saturday when typhoon Ondoy devastated Metro Manila and other nearby provinces.

I'm one of the lucky guys, here is my story:

I was heading ABS CBN, then when I turned left (inner street that leads to C3 or Araneta) I was surprised by the flood, but have managed to cross it, waves created by a truck went to my windshield already, I called my colleagues to cancel our activity then I headed home. Traffic at A.Bonifacio was terrible (clover leaf ilalim no longer passable) so instead I proceeded to Rizal ave going monumento. From monumento along edsa up to balintawak it took me 2 hours, when I reached the flooded area of edsa balintawak I was stuck there for 2 1/2 hours no food and water. Only buses and trucks can cross it that time then I saw a black X-trail who was brave enough and has made it to the other side... so ginaya ko sya X-trail din dala ko eh then I made it too. Pero ako kelangan mag U-turn so 2 times ako nag cross. After the breathtaking flood crossing no more flood on my way home. I got home at 4:30PM

Muka wala naman nasira no warnnig light, pero papacheck ko din under chasis.

Saturday, September 26-I went to see a friend as early as 845am. malakas na ulan, wala pang tubig sa boni avenue hanggang maysilo all the way to edsa boni. okei pa din ang slex southbound. pero around 945am, nagulat ako sa sitwasyon sa slex north bound coming from bicutan. ang taas na agad ng baha ng slex approaching c5 exit. from edsa left ako ng makati-dusit then makati ave papunta mandaluyong. nagulat ulit ako kasi pagbaba ko ng makati-mandaluyong bridge, ang laki na ng ilog pasig.

transversing hulo, papasok na sana ako ng p. cruz, ayun na, hanggang tuhod na ang baha. trap na ako. sabi ko sa sarili ko, hanap na ako ng matatabihan para intayin ko lang bumaba ang baha. time check, around 1030am. itinabi ko sa coronado street. ito yung street beside ilog pasig lang. after 30 minutes lang, nagulat na naman ako, hanggang gutter na baha sa coronado. ahh sabi ko, iba na ito. i decided to park my vanzie sa petron sa buendia. pero surprised to all surprised, nakita ko dami ng nakaparada sa tulay ng mandaluyong-makati. hindi na ako tumuloy ng petron, dun na rin ako nagpark sa ibabaw ng tulay. 12nn i decided to walk na pauwi. it took me n hour to reach home. waist deep ang tubig from coronado to hulo to p. cruz hanggang sa bahay.

sa bahay, ankle deep ang baha. nawalan ng kuryente ng 3pm.naibalik ng 2am. bumaba ang baha ng 12midnite. at eto pa, nasunog yung isang aprtment unit na kapitbahay namin. akala ko binaha na nga kami, masususnugan pa ata. good thing naapula naman agad yung sunog.

according to to the older neighbors, last na binahaang area namin dun sa mandaluyong was 1978.
