SSS Benefit for former citizens

Hello peeps,

Will an SSS member who lost his filipino citizenship will still be able to get his retirement benefits upon reaching the age of 60?

Alam ko di naman kalakihan ang pension nung mga SSS members pero sayang din yon kasi pinaghirapan mo pa din yong ihinulog mo doon.

I know The Philippines now accepts dual citizenship pero this may not be possible for other former Filipino citizens who are now citizens of countries who doesn't allow dual citizenships.

puede naman siguro, yun isa kamag-anak namin religiously naghuhulog sa SSS noon 1960's to late 80's. tapos nag-Saudi kababalik lang last year, nakakuha pa din benefits.

You could try sending an email to member_relations AT sss.gov.ph for a definite answer. From my reading of the SSS Guidebook page on retirement benefit, I couldn't find anything that either allows or prohibits former citizens from receiving this benefit.

hindi naman kelangan Filipino citizen para maging member ng SSS, kaya malamang pwedeng matanggap mga benefits.

AFAIK, as long as nakahulog siya ng 10 yrs. he's entitled to retirement benefits, kahit anong citizenship niya.

sir yung mother ko po migrate na sa guam nakakarecieve pa po ng sss pension ina-update lang documents ng sss they will require the family here to submit proof that she is still alive last year i submitted a consul certification from guam na nandun sya. I think this will eliminate pensioner who are receiving pension who are already dead.. basta my account sya inopen before sya umalis up to now dun pumapasok at winiwidraw ko naman...pang toma hehehe

Do you mean sir eh US citizen na sya ngayon ? ... Salamat po sa lahat na mga na-reply. Calling naman po yong me mga alam sa batas tungkol dito baka pwede po kayo mag-contribute. Salamats.

that's right u.s. citizen na sya and still receiving the pension benefit.
