    dami talaga lowlives kahit saan.

yung isang kaibigan ko nahipuan din. kaso LALAKE sya at BADING yung humipo sa kanya! bata pa kasi yon e kaya di pumalag kasi malaki daw yung bading, umiwas nalang sya at ginamit yung dalang folder bilang pantakip heehee

number one pet peeve ko sa MRT ay yung people who dont give way sa mga bumababa, sumasalubong pa. walang common sense talaga, lalong natatagalan e. yung subway dito sobrang puno din pero sobrang efficient yung pagsakay at pagbaba kasi nagbibigayan e, pinapababa muna yung nasa loob bago sasakay.

    *nic,
i hope your wife has some form lowlife-deterrent with her. kahit pepper spray lang. i always advise my sisters to have one hand inside the bag clutching the pepper spray when commuting or walking alone at night.

kaya ako i just position myself sa mga sulok or sa connection between 2 coaches. less chance ng siksikan. and i'm a big guy pa.

mas ok siguro kung lagyan nila ng pila talaga for the entrance and exit para bawas gulo when boarding and disembarking.

as for the menyeks...welll, ibang usapan yan. minsan din naman sa sikip at tulakan at pag gumagalaw na yung train, di maiiwasan ma maligaw kamay mo accidentally, but when that happens to me (i think twice nangyari, can't recall, tagal nako di nag-MRT), i say sorry kagad, di naman sinasadya eh.

i recently had the misfortune of riding the MRT a couple times, after like 3 years. it's extremely unpleasant.

there's a very obvious reason why the MRT is the way it is.

and that's -- the DISTORTED PRICING STRUCTURE. riding the MRT is CHEAPER than ANY other form of transport, for the distance covered.

so nicolodeon's observation na maraming blue-collar types who direly need a bath -- RIGHT ON THE MONEY. eh MRT ang pinaka-murang transpo eh. tapos baka makapag-chancing ka pa sa isang white-collar Makati girl. eh di saan ka pa, diba?

they should let the fares on the MRT float, or at least be higher than on the aircon bus. better quality naman and faster eh. as it is riding the MRT is CHEAPER than riding a jeepney! so the government is subsidizing the MRT at palugi siya. if they just let the fare be "fair" e.g. meet their costs, i suspect the population distribution of MRT riders will normalize.

it would be interesting to note that a number of our fellow countrymen still cant afford a deodorant and toothpaste. I learned about this dun sa mga nagtrabaho minsan sa isang construction project namin. we let them use our CRs, along with it our soaps, shampoo, conditioner, perfume, deodorant, mouthwash etc ... well, all I can say is andami evidence na ginamit nila yun mga laman ng CRs namin. at one point parang experimenting pa nga. and I know they ride the MRT before and after work.

For me the MRT is still one of the best means of transporattion along edsa since wala siyang traffic.

based on my observation mas masikip ngayon yung 2nd and 3rd car because of the segregatoin pero mas namamaximize nila yung space kasi nga puro guys. ang nakakainis lang minsan is yung mga babae na sumasakay sa mga car na yun considering na may sarili naman sila and aangal na ginigitgit sila or ang sikip sikip daw ( kaya nga may sarili kayong car eh di dun kayo sumakay bad trip kayo!!!!) yun lang no ofense po kung may tinamaan, just venting out.

Kahit na alam ng lahat na for the abovementioned lang yung first coach, marami pa ring men-folk na nagpupumilit sumakay dun - yung iba nagtatago pa sa guard.
this is true. I saw a one pregnant woman who was standing (siguro mga 7 or 8 months na yun), e sisikan tapos nakatayo pa sya sa malapit sa door.

They push, claw, rake, shove and bully their way in.

There was one time, when I was still studying, uwing uwi na ako (makati to bulacan). Sabi ko sa kanila, "you guys are so deaf and so stupid. Narinig nyo na nga ako na nagsabi ng excuse me twice, tinignan nyo pa ko, tapos ayaw nyo pa magpadaan? Anluwag sa gitna, ayaw nyo pa pumasok sa loob para makapasok pa kaming nag-aantay dito sa labas." tapos sabay...tooooooot..... pasara na pinto. Others were feeling guilty, some were looking at me like hell"

if you guys think the MRT is crowded....try the LRT :p i stopped riding it a long long time ago at baka mapaaway pa ako

my main gripe is the way people block the exits when the train stops at a particular station. di tuloy makalabas ng mabilis ung nasa loob, tapos kung tumunog ung buzzer -- which may not have happened if they let stayed out of the way) e tulakan naman.

a not so major gripe: lots of women still insist on riding on the other coaches even if the first coach is reserved for women, and is relatively not crowded. iniisip ko kasi, for every lady that does that, you're actually taking up two spaces -- one other guy could have fit into the coach she was riding on, and the other space left vacant on the first coach where she should've been in the first place.

still, given that we live amongst *** maniacs, i guess i'm ok with it.

this just happened yesterday morning, coming from pasay rotonda station, konti pa tao kasi maaga pa, may nakita akong napakagandang tanawin so dun ako tumabi para same coach kami, nung nagbukas yung train, sabay kaming pumasok but then bigla syang lumiit, yun pala sa katetxt nya lumusot yung left foot nya sa clearance between the train and the platform, nawala ang poise ng lola, I helped her out, and got a seat for her.

I have not ridden the LRT for about six years. A colleague of mine says that the LRT is now somewhat worse compared to the 90's.

I'm not the type of person who discriminates or looks down at people no matter what their social class is, what they look like or what they smell like. It's just that people nowadays lack courtesy and good manners - and at times, good hygine.

pre, talagang mas worse ngayon :D pansin ko pag rush hour, lalo diyan sa me buendia station, kakapit ka talaga ng mahigpit at baka madaganan ka sa taong papasok. at time s feeling mo you have to defend youself talaga -- kung tinulak, either tulakin mo palabas, or stand your ground. kungdi ikaw ung kawawa e.

well...at least sa MRT, madami pa naman akong nakikitang magiginoo -- kahit wala na sa lugar B). i often see men offering their seats to women(who, as far as i can tell, are very well capable of just standing. imho you should only offer seats to those who are physically challenged somewhat. anyways...) and to the elderly/pregnant/with kids. minsan nga babae pa ang nag ooffer, kung talagang mga epal ung ibang mga nakaupo.
