this is heavy... but its good that you guys let out your emotions, masama yung tinatago baka biglang sumabog. Am sure na madaming makakarelate sa inyo. How old is your dad alwayz_yummy?

There is always hope, but don't expect him to change, hirap na magbago lalo na pag middle age na yung isang tao... all you can do is go with the flow of things, and not repeat the same mistakes, don't harbor any ill feelings towards your dad he is still after all family and masakit sa ulo yan.

Be the best father you can be to your daughter, and as for your dad well, all you can do is pray and hope he changes.

well dad is in his 50's....but,looking at him..mapagkakamalan mong lolo siya ni mami!

well,metikuloso siya...sa pagluluto,damit,linis,kausap nya,etc....sa pamilya lang di siya metikuloso....bait nga ni mami..for 26 years(turn 27 na),tiniis nya,pinagdasal,lahat...ngayon lang sumuko..di nga alam birthdayz namin..aniv nila...this recently,di nga naalalang bday nya..kung di lang siya nabati..

ang gusto nga nya ako,bilang 1st son nya ay sumunod sa yapak nya..na alam ko mali,pero sa tingin nya siya lang ang tama at wala naman siyang inapreciate na tulong namin,not even once..mamumura pa..

hay..swerte lang ng daugther ko at ako tatay nya....

thanx guyz,h?kasi aalis nanaman si dadi,e di naman naresolba,at di na mareresolba itong problema namin...

pag kinonfront namin..siya pa nagagalit,tapos pag wala na masabi/maisumbat...sasabihin aalis siya at madami pa siyang ttrabhuin...aalis na di naresolba ang problema.

siya kasi nagtrabaho siya para sa kanya..diba pag pamilyado ka na,you have to work for your family?

nagsimula lang naman ito kahapon kasi sa mga pinagsasabi nya kahapon sa tatay ng costumer namin.....parang tuloy lumalabas na dito sa neighborhood na mga suwail,bastardong mga anak at asawa kami,e....kaya ako niisin kasi, bakit di nya kami confrontahing dercho at ipagkalat pa sa barangay ang problemang pamilya....

As a girl, i feel for your sister, i used to be envious with my friends having great fathers and all. It's one of the most important thing in a girl's life when growing up... to have a connection with her father. To be treated like a princess.

Again, you're daughter sure is lucky cause i'm sure you'll be a great dad.

well he likes his privacy up on the 2nd floor...watching til he sleeps..

my sister 1st hated our father when shes young..naglalambing in a way gustong ilipat sa channel ng cartoons...ewan ko,biglang nagalit si dadi at pinagpapalo sis ko with the buckle of the belt...buti nandun si mami kungdi yari utol ko....ayun puro pasa...simula noon sinumpa na nya si dadi,c mami nga lang nakiusap sa sis ko na wag na siya magalit sa dad namin...sa sobrang galit nga ng sis ko naskandalo pa sa school,ayaw sumama kay dadi nung napilitang siya ang sumundo...pinatawag ng principal sila..gano kasakit yun,sariling anak ayaw sumama sa yo...pero sa kanya ok lang...as if wala.kaya hanngang ngayon bibihirang i-address nya di dadi ng "daddy"..puro inis at ingit sa kalooban..

basta ako,i'll make sure kung anu ang di naibigay sa aking ng tatay ko,gagawin ko para sa mga anak ko...and i could say i'll be more of a father than he is...

Bro, don't expect your dad to change, 50 yrs old na yan. The best thing you can do is to move out if you have enough income. But for now just roll with the punches.

when we become adult, we don't have to follow our parents anymore, we just have to respect and love them. there is nothing we can do to make our parents better, but we can make ourselves a better parent for our children...

ah ok, i see. this is obviously much more than just one incident.

ganun talaga ang buhay i guess. unfortunately, you have to go through licensing to drive, to sell stock, or practice law....but there are no tests or licenses to become a parent, which is far more important.

alwaysyummy, thanks for sharing your story.. bihira ang nag "let go" ng emotion and in doing that you not only save yourself but let others learn from it too.
It is through personal experience we came out stronger. The important thing here is learn from it but don't curse your dad, he is still your dad. Just like they said be the best dad to your daughter I'm sure that what your dad want to be for himself too. I have a very strict dad too when I was a grown-up, that time there is no way for me to understand him. But I am now a father and now somewhat could relate to most of his wisdom before. Could be the way he communicates his feeling and thought is something that bother you but the message he is trying to impart might says otherwise. Good luck and God Bless you.

Gel is right. The most important lessons that a person would learn during his/her lifetime won't be from school. no matter how expensive the school is.
